I would not call it an "unpopular" opinion as much as just plain dumb.

Vitali's ego is even bigger than Wlad's, so he probably still thinks he can come back and beat Fury.

I think prime for prime, Fury beats Vitali on points. Vitali doesn't have the bomb power of Wlad or Wilder which means Fury can throw more. Fury has more foot speed, hand speed, reach, punch variety and genuine defence(not just leaning back against small guys). Endurance, determination are probably similar. Vitali may have a better chin, but he also hasn't been cracked by Wlad or Wilder and survived, so it's not a sure thing. And the chin doesn't matter if Fury doesn't have to KO him to win.
Just look how much KJohnson marked up Vitali with jabs and counters. Fury is going to land a lot!

Vitali isn't going to be gunshy and stand around like an idiot against a pillowfisted outboxer like Wladimir did. Thats all i gotta say.

Fury wasn`t highly rated on his way up, his fights were shown on channel 5, which isn`t a very popular channel in the UK, and early in his careeerr he was just a brawler who got dropped a couple of times because he was wild, I don`t even think Vitali would have sen a Fury fight by the time he retired because channel 5 isn`t aired in Germany and Fury wasn`t ranked in the top 10 at the time of Vitali`s retirement, Fury was a huge undderdog v Wlad, that fight put him on the map internationally.

Wilder backed out of a chance to fight with Wlad who easily knock him out in the gym.

No Fury would have out-boxed him.

Dear God, If you think that only way to be proud and be respected is to fight in the ring, then I might surprise you.
Majority of World's population are not boxing fans at all and they more knows important business ppl and politicians names.

Vitaly had enough money and fame and was 41 y.o when had retired.
Fury fans sometimes are interesting. Vitaly at all long time continued to fight when he had back problems and had a lot of stuff to do outside boxing.
He is known in his country by ppl who does not follows boxing and never had followed professional boxing.

Yeah it couldn't have been that it was because he was 41 years old with a laundry list of injuries and over 300 kickboxing and boxing fights in his lifetime. I'd take Vitali over Fury. Lennox over Fury as well.
