His nickname "sweet hands" is the perfect nickname. The way he throws punches kinda reminds me of how mayweather Sr. Was throwing against sugar ray leonard. He throws his hands so differently than most fighters. Its like art. Ive watched thousands of fights and hundreds of fighters and not many have i seen throw leather like he does. I like his fluidity/movement. If the judges were "men of integrity" i feel he could upset canelo in a 12rd decision. Any thoughts on this kid? Hes untested besides winning the belt from uzcatequi or however u spell it but he stands out to me and very few say anything about him

Dude, all these top 25 fighters in the division would look just as sweet fighting guys like Mike Lee, Feigenbutz and 45yr old Truax.

His resume over the past 26 months (dating back to Uzcategui which is his only world level opponent) is perhaps the weakest in boxing. Everyone would look artful against the bottom of the barrel he's fighting.

I think he does have talent, potentially even beautiful talent....but I also think he's going to get steamrolled by Clenelo because he's not testing or improving himself fighting these tomato cans.

There's a reason he has utterly ducked Benavidez, but unfortunately the duck has paid off because he is going to land the Clen fight...but he's so unprepared for that fight it's not even funny.

I agree with alot of what u said but not that any1 can look artful against tomato cans. His fluidity in the movement of his punches or his punch mechanics w.e u would call it is so different from any boxer ive seen. I cant wait to see him step up in competition. He supposedly doesnt party and get fat inbetween camps and hes always in shape close to weigh in weight. We will see what happens. Obviously id put my money on canelo but i think only him n benavidez have the shot at beating canelo. Maybe if saunders was in the shape he was at 160 towards the end of his run there he would be the 3rd person who could b an issue for canelo but i am excited to see whats next for all of them. Boxing is on fire right now

And i only mean at 168. Hes got some serious smoke down at 160 and up at 175 but for now hes the 168 king and close to being the first undisputed super middle ever. Only because the italian dragon gave up the IBF belt otherwise thats the only.person to have all 4

I agree with your assessment on his abilities, as far as his resume it is thin but that's boxing today .

I think to beat Canelo now you need punches that do damage. Plant doesn't have that, and doesn't have the depth of ring knowledge/experience that Mayweather or even Lara had.

I became a fan of his several years ago mainly because he’s from Tennessee like myself, and we haven’t had too many top level boxers come out of Tennessee in recent years. I have stayed a fan of his and really enjoy watching him box with that slick shoulder-roll style of his. For some reason, I always enjoy watching guys fight who are good at using the shoulder-roll. I know a lot of people find it boring because it tends to be a defense-first style, but I find it fun to watch regardless. I do agree that Caleb hasn’t fought the greatest of opposition, so it is a little tough to figure out exactly how good he is. I’d really like to see him fight Benavidez next. If he wins that, then I think the winner of Saunders vs Canelo would be the logical next fight for the undisputed title. I do think he might be able to give Canelo some problems, as he seems to struggle a little with slick fighters with good footwork, at least in past years. Canelo does seem to have improved a lot recently though, so I will admit that Plant’s chances of beating Canelo are probably not great, especially with how hard it will be to win on the cards. Plant has shown me nothing to make me think he can knockout Canelo, outside of maybe just a perfect, lucky punch.

Weird nickname. You think "Sweet Hands" would wipe Andrade's "Boo Boo"?

This guy can look really good at times. He moves well and looks fast against the guys he’s faced. Looking forward to seeing him against the top guys. I’m optimistic but don’t think he’s elite. Hope he proves me wrong.

While Canelo is busy fighting Billy Joe, Caleb should fight a guy like John Ryder who'd be a good litmus test of his true talent level. It'd also present him with a physically similar dimensioned fighter to Canelo with some shared traits such as speed, power, head movement and pressure fighting.

Well it's Caleb's funeral, if he came through that fight with flying colours I know he'd be favoured a hell of a lot more.

Plant is like, a smidge over average. He'll get murked by Clenelo and Benevidez.

I like Plant. I think he is highly skilled and can make it to the top.
He just needs a opponent to push him there and itll happened soon.

I agree that he might need a little more to bet or match Canelo toe to toe. I would perfer him to fight a top contender before the Canelo fight.
