So cold...Why, they think a river'd need to be frozen over to be that cold. But this river was like...it-it-it-it was like...liquid ice. The kind of ice that produces the kind of cool of a fighter who could rhyme the names of his opponents with derogatory terms and phrases and fight outcomes for which he would make come true. As the saying goes.

Due to his swarming style Marciano in his prime would give Ali all he could handle! Once Rocky warms up to the task...Marciano sets up a relentless pace! The Rock makes himself smaller...getting inside...and landing some brutal shots to Ali's body! If he tries any kind of "rope a dope" crap,...he bound to fail. Watch prime Ali against George Chuvalo in their title fight in 1966. Chuvalo was a limited fighter with no real power. He forced Ali to the ropes...but didn't have what it takes to keep him pinned there. George also landed right hands flush on Ali's jaw in the later rounds! Chuvalo lands on prime Ali...so does Marciano! And with more consequences! Anyone who think that a light hitting Ali would walk through a fighter like Rocky Marciano, whom Pulitzer Prize winning sportswriter Jimmy Cannon said:"Was the most dedicated fighter who ever put on a pair of gloves! "Pain had no meaning...and "fear" wasn't in his vocabulary!"...is looking thru rose colored glasses! You don't beat a guy like Marciano...who had a great chin...terrific power in both hands...."a kill or be killed" attitude...a very high work rate...fantastic conditioning...ferocious fighting style...a "will to win" second to none...with a left jab over 15 rounds! Cuts?...it never happened...even when he had his nose split WIDE OPEN in his second fight with Ezzard Charles in Sept.1954. That didn't stop Marciano! He stormed out...KO'd Charles and kept the title! Rocky had the knack of coming up with the "Big Punch" when he needed to! Ali's not going to out punch Marciano...he's not going to come into the ring in better shape than Marciano...he 's not going to "out-gut" Marciano...
...he's not going to hurt Marciano...he's not going to "psych-out" Marciano....(Marciano was mentally tough as well)...he doesn't go to the body like Marciano...it's like a "pea shooter" vs a Howitzer". This has always been my "Fantasy Fight"...always will be! This is the toughest fight Ali would ever have! Ali backs up all night long!!!

    You people are certifiable.

Ali would be a man against a boy. A two generations of heavies after Ali tried to follow his blueprint but few if any had the talent to achieve what he did. Meanwhile, we still wait for the tiny, slow, truncated guy to dominate the division... How much longer must we have to do this until the blueprint is repeated?

You seem to be saying that neither blueprint has been successfully repeated, so what exactly is your point?

No one is copying Marciano's blueprint because it simply would not work amidst greater athletes.

Generations copied Ali's blueprint as athletes arose who could approximate it and realized that size and speed and athleticism married to fighting spirit would equal success. But again, few had Ali's insane talents tho we see another great in Holmes, a Bowe and lesser lights like Pinky and Tony Tubbs.
