I haven't seen Froch v Kessler in a few years, but I've seen it more than once Iirc, it was 8-4 or 7-5 to Kessler and a modern classic of toughness
He won the secong fight because Kesslers timing was gone. First fight Kessler bounced shots of Froches chin, second fight Kessler was shot and couldnt land well. Froch had much better timimg and preparation, fought a far better fight against a further injured and shopworn Kessler
For what it's worth, I thought Froch edged it the first time as well, but when I rewatched it about 5 years ago. I had Kessler winning 116-112
10 Froch' output has really slowed.. looks drunk, must be volcanic fumes.. Kessler feeling it a bit now too, both looking ragged, Froch hands down arrogant holding his ground more, might ave finally nicked one.. good but messy round that 11 nearly a minute in Kessler has landed at will Froch backing up not landing anything, commentators calling it razor thin .. both throwing bombs all of a sudden .. round 11 again.. round 11 in the second fight was brutal too.. Kessler again backing him up & getting the better.. I can't believe the shots Froch is taking in this round…great round, Kessler round.. Froch is granite though
@CST80 round 12 is missing Doesn't matter.. Froch had no chance by then anyway.. what a performance, backed him up all night & beat him at his own game. Decisively. No head butting, gift decision or dry humping either. Not many men could do that to Froch. Froch looks totally demoralised. He clearly knows he lost here. More time goes on the more I appreciate Kessler. I just watched him knock fk out of Green too and that was satisfying.
Kessler had been past his prime for a while in the first fight and he was way past it for the rematch. Like Calzaghe, he had terrible problems with injuries for much of his career and his body had been breaking down on him. This is from before the Beyer fight This content is protected Prime Kessler would've beaten Froch fairly handily albeit Froch was an iron-jawed beast too. It was more a case of Kessler's will and grit securing him the win in the first one Here's Antonio Tarver making an observation about Kessler's decline This content is protected
Well I've got to be honest that was actually worth it .. Jesus Christ what a round that was… they both deserved that one.. even round, arguably best round of the fight.. these two gave us something special towards the end of both those fights. Must take something out of u fights like that.. anyway cheers for that link
