    Predictions?

I'm going with Herring, I believe he just needs to jab, jab, jab, jab and it should be relatively easy.

I think Frampton is going to have problems getting inside on Herring. Herring moves pretty well and is rangy. I haven’t seen Frampton use his feet very much as of late and he is going to need to do just that to win.

I put cash on Herring by decision. I don’t hate Frampton but he did cost me a lot of money losing the LSC second fight. It was the last leg of a hefty parlay (Mikey Garcia had a highlight reel KO on the undercard). So I’m hoping to get some of my money back.

Steve Bunce and Josh Taylor on punditry duty. Not sure if Buncey has ever been on Channel 5 before.

Jamel Herring is 35 years 5 months old

Carl Frampton is 34 years 1 month old

Frampton is therefore younger by 16 months. Both are clearly past it in terms of age and their physical prime.

Jamel Herring clearly had a very difficult weight-cut and looked huge and like he had 0% body fat. At 35 years old that is almost impossible to do without it effecting your health and performance in the ring.

I haven't followed the build up of this fight to be confident enough to make a strong prediction. For the sake of it, I will pick Carl Frampton by clear UD.

I just don't think this is true any more. I think it's possible it might affect him, but the days of it being sure are gone. Refuelling is too advanced now for things like that to be sure. Danny Garcia described being "unable to make a fist" he was so weight drained for one fight..next day, there he was, kicking ass. Some of these guys emaciated themselves.

Herring should win if he fights smart but his cardio isn't great and he had Covid like two or three times lol? Let's see...if he gasses i think Frampton is right there. Should be definitely close.

I wrote this a few months back...

Herring has been really lucky thus far, sure he's been able to use his size and slickness to his advantage, since moving down from Lightweight,. but let's be honest, it's not like he's really been put to the test all that much. Oquendo is well past it, and that was a gift DQ from the ref to Herring, because he was falling apart in a bad way at the end of that match, as far as Ito goes, he's good when it comes to counter punching aggressive fighters, sadly what's so often the case, he sucks at counter punching counter punchers. He doesn't really know how to be aggressive, much less effectively aggressive. As far as Roach goes, he failed to impress against Cruz or Oquendo himself, and even he managed to buzz Herring. Frampton is just too wily, slippery, versatile and diverse in hs attack for a guy like Herring to deal with, his real level will be exposed again, Frampton will dismantle and stop Herring, and probably with body work, in 8.
