joe only had 2 fights at LHW, both against old men.
the hopkins win, however, was his career best imo.

Forget about Calzaghe @ 175lbs that was just a retirement cash grab between him , Nard & Roy Joe was done after his unification of the 168lb titles.

Spinks would have beat the **** out of Calzaghe. He was a top level operator and not an old man at that weight.

Pffft...please..... If Tyson can do spinks in one round... Joe would've destroyed him!

Joe has a better work rate than Mike and has quicker handspeed, but that's it. It's not enough. Hopkins has 0 kos at 175 and he managed to drop Joe. The Spinks jinx stops Joe.

He did.....he just reduced power on his punches by 90% to prolong Jeff's suffering....Calzaghe hit with the same kinda force as a prime George foreskin

Cal Slappy wouldn't be able to keep Spinks off him. Easy work for the Spinks Jinx.

Spinks would have nothing to fear from Joe, you're 100% correct easy work .

Lol dont be silly Jones was a carcass of his prime self during that fight. He based his style on mainly athleticism rather than pure technical skill, the exact opposite of Calzaghe so when Jones got old he was nowhere near the man he was at his peak

Both weren't in their prime during that fight but the difference is Jones was FAR from it, Calzaghe not so much. Even a shot Jones managed to knock him down. Jones was basically coming off 3 losses. 2 by brutal knockout. Saying Calzaghe beats a prime Jones is like saying Holyfield beats a prime Larry Holmes. Calzaghe is an all time great but he hasn't done anything to make me favor him over a prime Jones, and certainly not over a prime Spinks :risas3:

Just felt like a really good time to have a sarcastic moment...and it still sounds better and more believeable than at least 20% of the posts on here

I feel like some people only saw Spinks vs Tyson and are judging Spinks based off that single moment in time where a light heavyweight took on one of the most feared men in boxing history.

Simply not an accurate summary of Spinks.

Spinks was a beast in his own right and if Larry Holmes couldn’t keep Spinks at bay, Joe wouldn’t be able to keep him off either.

Spinks cracks the Calzaghe code and stops him late.

Yes, Jones fought on and got brutally KO'd time after time. It's beginning to show in his speech.
Calzaghe wisely stayed away from comebacks and appears to be fine physically and mentally.
