Great performance by Jamel Saturday. Great performance from Valdez vs Berchelt. Let's get this fight signed. Valdez would need a whole new game plan for Jamel seeing how Herring does not come straight forward, likes to pick angles, mix up his punches. I think it's an awesome fight to make

Valdez will wreck Herring. Frampton simply didn’t belong there.

I expect Valdez to win but I'm all for the matchup. Feel like it'll probably be Stevenson though, easily the best opponent he'll of been in with

Makes too much sense... Herring doesn't want to fight Stevenson and Stevenson's got an eliminator with a Namibian bum in July... If Herring wins, he moves to 135, if Valdez wins he unifies with Shakur in December.

Herring will have all the advantages he had versus Framption, but he's gonna be in for a long night if the hypermotivated Valdez who smoked Berchelt shows up.. El si will have the legs and the speed to get under his reach and work the body.

Nothing against Herring who fought well last night but Valdez sparks him.

I wish Loma would get in on the action at 130lbs where he belongs and take on one of these guys.

Fighting Nakatani feels like such a waste of six months in the few prime years he has left. Lopez wants no part of a rematch.

Get down to 130 and grab Valdez before Herring does.

Valdez will have a lot of the same issues Frampton had.

Valdez is roughly the same size dimensions as Frampton

While that's true stylistically they are quite different. Frampton is an out boxer against a taller boxer he was stylistically always fighting up hill, Valdez while a counter puncher is an aggressive counter puncher he'll be far more adept at cutting the range something Frampton isn't inclined to do. Frampton naturally would always want to move out of range after throwing while Valdez will press and draw a lead and then step in with a counter and cut that distance down but then not look to move out like Frampton would.

Also Shafikov was also only 5'5" like Frampton and Valdez but his more aggressive style completely took away Herrings size advantage leading to him KOing Herring. The Frampton win flattered Herring because he had a smaller boxer who generally wants to fight at range and counter sitting off him and fighting at his perfect distance. Give him a fighter who presses and actually cut the distance and he'll look more beatable. Valdez will have no problem cutting the range and will punish Herring if he keeps throwing that weak jab.
