Hey actually what the **** do the ### stand for? I mean it’s three hashies. So what word has three letters that needs to be censored boyo?
An iron chin (Jeffries?) would certainly have enabled him to finish some fights that the actual Lewis didn't. I believe, in order to avoid any losses, though, we also need to give him the discipline needed to always show up in top form (Marciano?).
He had an elite chin. He was rarely wobbled except for the two times he was stopped, the McCall stoppage being somewhat questionable. Both were monstrous shots, one in which he got caught trading aggressively (and actually got up from), the other where he was being lazy and unfocussed on the ropes (lack of focus being his true weakness). He ate tons of big shots during his career, such being the nature of the game and part of the hazard circulating at the top of the division for over busy decade. Again, he faced the greatest collection of powerpunchers of any heavyweight champion. I don't think it's even close. He was navigating a sea of juicers, of man-sized, hard throwing powerpunchers, who if they could do little else, could punch.
