The comments section seems to be full of people convinced Fury camp don't want the fight and/or eddie is the only one trying.

Eddie Hearn is all about PR and appearances.
He knows the fans will be disappointed that this fight isn't made and will be looking for someone to blame and point the finger, so he's directing them towards Fury and Fury's promoters.

It's simple, there's no money. Hearn is looking for some oil sheik to pay him a couple of hundred millions for just the prestige of hosting the fight. Which is ******ed. Maybe Fury's team isn't doing anything, but that's because they realize there's no way anyone will be coughing up the money. Hearn promised insane money for both Joshua and Fury, but can't deliver.

Exactly. This feels like damage limitation now so he can spend the next few years blaming the other side for a mega fight not happening.

Its Joshua/Wilder all over again. I wonder if Hearn had over valued Joshua and that's the issue. Maybe he's expecting Floyd level paydays but the numbers just dont add up.

Eddie is doing exactly what he did with Wilder, EXACTLY.

He has the platform, the profile and the Media friends to spin any problems in to "Fury don't want the fight".

It's what he does, he is trying to apply pressure to Fury and he can't, Hearn sounds frustrated and irritated, Fury isn't that man, Fury doesn't respond to this type of game playing.

Fury has held every major belt, he is lineal champion, he is regarded as the number 1, he went to Germany to fight WK, he went to the US twice and fought Wilder, things AJ didn't and wouldn't do..

The Matchroom cult an so fanboys can say whatever they like, it's just childish and see through and if anybody believe for a second Fury will fold because he is getting some stick then you haven't got a clue about Fury.

Said the same thing when Hearn struggled to find an opponent in what ultimately became the first Ruiz fight.

    Yet Fury has imposter syndrome.

The man CANNOT handle being the guy, so so what if he's had every belt? What's he done with them? Because he doesn't defend them. He had NO CHOICE but to go abroad! How can't you see that?

I don't belive for a second that AJ is scared, but I do believe that Tyson isn't bothered about fighting AJ. He wants another scrub, then he'll make an excuse for not fighting AJ. It's what he does.

If it’s left to Frank Warren nothing would happen but the absolute best we could hope for would be a YouTube broadcast from York Hall at Bethnal Green with the fighters getting a fairground goldfish and a stick of candy floss.

Except we know it was actually Wilder at fault for the AJ/Wilder fight not happening since he admitted he had no interest in fighting him and fought Fury instead.

Maybe you're right about the money though, perhaps it can't happen for a while until after lockdown.

Turns out the goldfish is dead, but Frank says what's done is done.

The problem, which is so easy to fall into, is Eddie has overpromised on both sides. He told the fighters they were a quarter billion or whatever and the fans they were getting AJ-Fury for undisputed HW champion.

Now he could end up delivering great money for a pandemic or some serviceable matchups with the likes of Usyk and Whyte but both will seem like trash.

why? Usyk small or not small, despite over the hill for sure, moves pretty well for his approx 217 lbs weight.
Whyte ofc had failed cos 40 years 11 months old 224 lbs over the hill uncle's shadow KOed him.
Might rebuild, match him vs Ruiz Jr or Wilder and will see.

I think the guest (can't remember his name) on the recent BoxingNews podcast explained pretty well why this fight is unlikley to happen this summer.
