Beat the **** out of Omar Sheika who was coming off a win over Glenn Johnson, but yes he was scared of Johnson.

Who the **** had Carl Froch beat by the time Calzaghe retired in 2008? Carl had beaten a shot to **** Robin Reid and had just beaten Albert Rybacki (who?) but yes Joe was terrified of him

You just claimed fighting number 1 light heavyweight Hopkins was a sign of ducking Carl Froch who was the British Champion lol

Froch beat Kessler in the return...he also beat Pascal,Jermain Taylor, Andre Dirrell,Arthur Abraham,Glen Johnson, and many others including Reid. Its my opinion Froch ,Taylor Darren,Abraham and Glen Johnson reached higher heights than Kessler overall.

Your interpretation of the Ottke fight is the same jingoistic old mothers tale about robberies in Germany we used to hear.....Reid wanted to whine and complain all fight rather than go out there and do some boxing.

I'm genuinely surprised by how long it took for Froch to enter this thread. Calzaghe would have taken him to school. Froch had a great career but he was more of a slugger with plenty of heart, Calzaghe was a cut above.

You think Arthur Abraham at supermiddleweight is a better win than Kessler at supermiddleweight??? Like, seriously?? That's a joke right?

Froch beat Kessler in Kesslers lack retirement fight when he had one eye, blurred vision, bad arms, and no timing of accuracy, peak Froch lost to a past prime Kessler and beat a shot Kessler, Bhop stayed an elite light heavyweight for about 7 years after Joe beat him

You're gonna include the Reid win as a world class one too? Robin was shot to pieces.

You know who also beat Pascal? Old man Hopkins after he lost to Calzaghe

My interpretation of the Reid fight is based on what everybody saw, Roger Tilleman is always named as one of the most corrupt officials of all time when the subject comes up...in BOXING!! He warned the man for punching him in the face ffs, it's not a 'tale' nor do I see how Jingoism fits in seeing as I am Irish, it was one of the most corrupt displays in post war boxing

Calzaghe would have beaten Johnson 100 times out of a 100 so it's laughable to suggest he would duck him.

Calzaghe had a career a loser like your boy Amir Khan with his love affair with the canvas could only dream of. Calzaghe beat everyone put in front of him, he was unbeatable, exceptional, a P4Per, elite A Level hall of famer, a born winner, Khan is a JOKE in comparison.

Calzaghe beat Mikkel Kessler, Bernard Hopkins, Chris Eubank, Jeff Lacy, Roy Jones Jr, Byron Mitchell, Robin Reid, Charles Brewer.,Sakio Bika, Richie Woodhall. << all were current world champions or former world champions. so hardly 'nobodies'

Calzaghe trained out of a ****ing shed most of his career. Whereas Khan was a manufactured product given everything on a plate to suceed terrified to lose to a fellow British fighter his entire career. Ducked punchers most of his career and cherry picked feather fisted fighters and STILL was a laughing stock clown failure who got dropped and lost to every level of fighters LOL

    Exactly lol

So many people seem to enjoy rewriting history its laughable.

I'm sure if Joe knew the fantastic career Froch was going to have he would've fought him but at the time he brought **** all to the table and there was more money to be earned + bigger fish to fry stateside than some no mark from Nottingham.
