Which other boxers have you seen who have made such a rapid improvement like Conor Benn has?

I don't think they should rush with him he's only 24 and clearly improving.all the best fighters at welter are getting on a bit now Crawford, spence, pac, porter,Garcia, thurman, ugas are all 30+ and there's a lot of dangerous young talent on their heels now.welterweight could be an absolute war zone in 2 years time and with all the old pbc fighters out of the picture it should be a great division.

Terri Harper grew up in Yorkshire with her two brothers and sister. She got into boxing at the age of 12 after watching Jack Osbourne box on the TV show Jack Osbourne: Adrenaline Junkie. After winning a silver medal as a junior at the 2012 European Championships, Harper stepped away from the sport to concentrate on her education. Harper worked in a fish and chip shop, she saw Katie Taylor and wanted to become a World Champion herself. With the back story already good to go Terri did it and Dave Allen was inspired....

It's quite astounding really..when he started he wasn't worth a wank but it's actually mental how much he's come along...I don't particularly like the guy..he's like a caricature of any Danny dyer movie character...but I am impressed with how he's doing...get him in with porter...sink or swim n we will know if he's legit.

Don't bother with khan..he's old as **** and done..n the fact he called him out speaks volumes

I don't think his improvement has been particularly rapid.
3 years is a long time if you take something seriously and do everything right and have good support.

His improvement has been significant though.

Thing is he looked completely hopeless early on. Hell, I'm sure I made a thread or posts at least proclaiming that he'd never get beyond Euro level. Credit has to go to Sims as well.

If you rewatch the Peynaud first fight and then yesterday and the Formella fight it's like watching a totally different boxer.

Suprised how many people saying he's improved as you'd expect..I've seen alot of fighters over the years some looked better than Benn when they started..alot better..n then they go on to do not alot or show even half the improvement...having said that alot of those came on with alot of amateur experience or didn't live the life

Although he can grate on me a bit at times credit where it’s due. His progression n has been brilliant. They have matched him very well up to this point too.

I just hope they don’t push him to a world title fight too soon. I think he is 4 to 5 fights away from having a decent chance of actually winning a title if he keeps progressing in the right way.

I do think the Amur Khan fight would be perfect for him as Benn seems like he could bang and Khan hasn’t been the hungriest or strongest chin over the last 3/4 years. However if that doesn’t pan out.

I would probably match him with Cody Crowley, Luis Collazo and then someone like Mo Hooker. Before getting in and around the money fights with the likes of Vergil Ortiz as I think Spence etc will move up in the next year or two

Not much to dislike last night other than the post fight interview. Looks light on his feet and showed considerable hand speed, coupled with great accuracy. Looks a small welter for me but ticks a lot of boxes. Looks to have a good engine an has shown the ability to go to the trenches. Chin and defence the next to tick but yeah improvements have been considerable so hats off. Game young man, if he learns to talk less he might find a new fan in me

Conor's post fight interviews are nearly as entertaining as the fights themselves.

How often do you get to see a professional boxer audition for the next rise of the footsoldier film live on tv?

He actually had a cameo in one of those films, I think someone needs to let him know they stopped filming and he can come out of character!

That aside, and on a serious note- be very wary of any fighter who blatantly and deliberately skips the whole domestic scene. It's odd to be talking about Shaun Porter when he has beaten no one of note domestically and refuses to fight Marku, Kongo, Jenkins because they are all so much beneath him. Or to quote Conor 'I ain't bothered about fighting none of these other bods'.

Just looking at fighters within the same stable as him, the contrast could not be clearer or greater. Cheeseman who admittedly is more experienced but not much older at all has fought anyone and everyone domestically at his weight. He's lost one, drawn one, been in some tough and grueling fights.

In two weeks time Felix Cash is going into a true 50-50 and possible domestic fight of the year contender. Before that he went into a very tough fight against Jack Cullen which was a real war.

Conor has won his last two fights in style no doubt it- but those two fights were against two hand picked gatekeepers, both brought in to lose, and both did not disappoint.

Sorry I don't buy the hype around him at the moment, no based on who he has beaten for the time being at least.

Its the art of matchmaking, Benn has been matched very well and has been able to develop and look good at the same time.
Still think he will never win a belt because 147 is too deep but certainly always thought he would get a title shot.
I predicted that years ago and people laughed and said he wouldn't get to Brit level lol.

Eubank Jr could have had a lot better matchmaking and no need to fight BJS when he did in his 1st 12 rounder. Was a big risk but many including me think that he still won the fight.

Groves wasn't bad matchmaking I think he was there for the taking. Jr didn't really show up in that fight.

I think people do forget how badly he was cut in the Groves fight and how much it actually would have had an impact on the outcome.
Doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that Groves would start better. Jr always seems to have a look in the 1st few rounds but after the cut the fight became a lot more difficult. Can't pin a guy down when you can't see him.

Think we,ve to give him credit where its due tbf. No one thinks hes gonna be the p4p champion. But hes came a long way since them early days. Hes taking a lot of stick.

Hes already bettered where most people thought he would have got to.

    Give the boy some credit.

Not everyone can be floyd mayweather.

The boxing fan cant really lose with their predictions. He wont get to domestic. When he does. They say he wont get to european. When he does. They say he wont get to world level. When he does. They say he wont get a title. When he does. They say their a fan.

Its a winning life being a fan. The odds massively stacked in their favour.

No sure how far he,ll get. Think last night flattered him...but hes doing well. Time for a bit of credit surely considering the early days predictions.

Yeah. A side kid for eddie.

Maybe he is good, yet untested prospect. When he will fight with someone form top 100, will see.
