Better than Rasario, or Ramirez? Maybe, maybe not. But if Corrales was, it wasn't by much. Rasario and Ramirez were two of the more consistent lightweights of the 80's . Ramirez beats Corrales in my opinion.
Could see this being similar to Chavez against Rosario. That gap between truly great and merely good / very good being encapsulated in however many rounds this went (I don't see Corrales hearing that final bell). Chavez would be licking his lips at the thought of going to work on that long body of Corrales' - that's a big target for a body puncher of Chavez's calibre considering that Corrales wasn't the kind of fighter to always make best use of any height or reach advantage he had over a guy. If Corrales ends up sticking to Chavez like glue as he did against Castillo (and I believe he will, as Julio won't allow it to be any other kind of fight) then he's getting a prolonged pummelling here. Corrales fights bravely and his his occasional moments, but this is a terrible match up for him. Chavez by TKO in the championship rounds with Corrales having taken a lot of punishment before folding.
Dumb logic. The only guy Pacquiao fought at 140 was a shot Ricky Hatton, does that mean you don't pick Pacquiao against anyone better than that?
Corrales had as much heart as anyone but I think he gets stopped sometime in the second half of this one.
Flash24 already mentioned them. He is NOT better than Rosario or Ramirez. Do you honestly believe he is?
Chavez would have tortured both Corrales and Mayweather. Castillo KO'ed Corrales and beat Mayweather. Chavez was like a great version of Castillo. In fact Castillo was Chavez sparing partner
