Who wins? I may be on my own here but I do think Khan wins. I know he's not in his prime. I just think his experience in bigger fights and amateur pedigree, along with his skill set and technique, means he'd outbox Benn. Will have to hit and move though, to avoid getting caught. A lot of people will disagree. What do you all think?
I don't think Khan has got much left in him. Hasn't fought in nearly two years and doesn't lead the life anymore. The younger, hungry Benn stops him within 8 rounds.
Khans not even fighting for pride anymore. If this fight does happen, Benn takes him out in 2-4 rounds.
By the time any next fight for Khan comes he won’t have fought a live opponent since April 2019. In that time, Benn has had 5 fights. His motivation levels for boxing are clearly at an all time low. He is 34 years old and would only be returning for the cash. All the ingredients are there for Benn to give him a hiding and stop him mid rounds. I think once Benn gets used to his hand speed early on, then it’s an easy fight for him. Khan isn’t going out on his shield either, not at this stage of his career.
I don’t know if Khan can win because of question marks over his desire and training. Benn has pretty much been training day in day out since lockdown. I know because I check his IG and on the other hand Khan has been occupied by business interests and other ventures. He’s said before that he only trains in training camps. The levels are stark. Experience too, Khan is a bonafide world champion boxer who has beaten a calibre of boxer that Benn may never beat. But these things come to desire and activity. I said on the weekend that the Khan who boxed Lo Greco, who was in shape, post-Prime but still very fast and sharp, would beat Benn. But now I don’t know. It’s a fight Khan doesn’t need anyway. I’d rather see Brook because of his split from Matchroom and his “beef” with Hearn after the split. I think the angle is better, I think the promotion would be better and Brook would have a real point to prove. The only doubt is whether Brook can get to 147.
Brook - Khan really? They're both past it. I've no interest in seeing them fight anymore. Benn vs Avanesyan would be a good fight for both.
Instead of calling out an active, closer to prime boxer around his level like avanesyan, mckinson or jenkins he calls out way past it, glass jawed, skype wanker khan. Merely another young fighter looking for ppv loot rather than actual accolades and achievements. Get used to it fellas
I think Khan or Brook v Benn would go in a similar way to Degale v Eubank Jn. Obviously, they would almost have us convinced that they still have something left in the tank and would justify it with the fact they've both been there and done that and they have the fundamentals. They'll even look great on the scales. Then the first time they get caught they will be hanging on for dear life. I hope they both just retire.
I think Brook (even post Crawford Brook) would be a great bet to KO Benn. Brook’s reactions are slower, his punch resistance less but his precision punching is probably still there IMO. Brook has always been best as a backfoot counterpuncher and I just think he has the IQ to set a trap and walk Benn onto something. Others will disagree but I think it’s a good fight providing Brook can make the weight. Something just says to me that Brook would be hungry for this sort of fight after the Matchroom split and this (like it or not) would be PPV loot for him and I doubt he’d turn that down.
I think both glass eye and glass jaw beat Benn. Both are past it i admit, but not quite past it enough for Benn to think the time is right, it is not. If Khan or Brook actually take it seriously, because at the moment they probably don't, then they both will school Benn and possibly stop him late on. Like i say, they are not "That Past It".
