Liam's great at blocking punches with his face though.

He ate a lot of uppercuts tonight. They bothered him some...but less than you could reasonably-expect.

I think he would be a fascinating opponent for Munguia who, after all, seemed perfectly satisfied to play "sloppy seconds" with former BooBoo opponents (e.g. Sulecki).

I'd love nothing more than to praise the local lad to me tonight but Liam just hasn't got enough about him to be at the top unfortunately.
You can't just march forward following a fighter around the ring using your face as defence, same thing over and over round upon round, constantly getting caught with uppercuts my gran would have seen coming and blocked. And she's been dead years.. Lol

Big respect for Liam, tough kid but you need more strings to your bow than that.

his problem is he doesnt bend his waist any, so that limits his defensive choices. if he defends against uppercuts, he has to bring his forearms together, which opens him up to hooks around his guard, because its just covering the front. andrade would show him some hooks, and when he went to defend them, he would eat an upper. if he used more body movement it would make it harder to catch him with an upper. cause if you throw an upper like those, against a top level fighter, you better hope its not a trap, and you better hope you connect before he does, cause he sees you **** your shoulder to throw it.

And deduct a point for William's intentional headbutt.

Only just caught up with it now.

Williams was very naive, he thought he could just walk Andrade down and beat him that way. He ended up walking directly on to a few big ones. I’m surprised the tactics didn’t change during the fight, they kept doing the same thing and although Andrade was definitely hurt in the 9th it was just never going to be enough to negate the skill difference between them. Andrade’s engine was poor, he needs to work on that if he comes up against someone better, or of course move up. Good fight though.
