I think that's the most likely way that fight turns out as well. I can see Ali hurting Wlad at some point, though if does it it's going to be with a stinging counter right hand over Wlad's lead, and he'll need to maximise his window of opportunity to follow up before Wlad totally shuts him down again in the clinch. If Ali can get Wlad second guessing though, and overreacting to feints he could start catching him with more regularity and I think the crowd reaction (assuming this is set in the States or somewhere pro-Ali) would fire him up enough, and demoralise Wlad enough, to turn the tide in Ali's favour. It'll look something like a much cagier version of the Rumble in the Jungle if it happens.
Not really. It would probably look like the size difference between Klitschko and Haye. Ali was SLIGHTLY shorter than Haye but at that point its barley noticable.
You may be correct about Ali. But not necessarily; sometimes people who are not nearly as strong are more effective & efficient at certain techniques-Foreman was much stronger than Ali too. Yes a SHW is significantly larger, but Ali might be more efficient at eploying his strength, & particularly good at negating someone-that is different from say lifting nearly as much weight-it involves nuetralizing or thwarting. I do not think Klitchko's a-2 was very clos eto Ali's speed, but we would have to watch it closely & time it. Part of the issue is that we would have to track tiny differences in time-they throw them so fast that a seeminglu miniscule difference in speed may translate to a lare *percentage* if difference. Hence a large practical difference in whether an opponent is likely to defend or evade it.
Yes, Ali was at least an inch taller than Haye. Haye never was 6' 3", & below you can see where they say he is more like 6". I would wager he is a max. or 6' 1 &1/2". Anyone can look at the search results here-particularly the listing from this forum. https://www.boxingnews24.com/2010/09/is-haye-only-6-feet-tall-look-how-much-bigger-the-64-harrison-is-compared-to-haye. In the search results, the "Quora" website has a response where it is said that Joshua, who is either 6' 6" or extremely close to that, is only a bit taller than Haye...is that not so mistaken as to seem delusional? This shows how erroneous some people can be. They were nowhere near the same height. You can make your own judgement about the comparison to Bellew... The quote about Haye: He is 6′3, Bellew is 6′3 and if you look at them eye-to-eye they are as near as dammit the same, if you look at him next to Joshua then AJ is only a bit taller, so he maybe 6′2.5 but he is about 6′3 give or take a few mm.
Bellew even did not fought vs Prime Briedis and had been finished by Usyk while his fans had been delusional like commentators that Usyk fights to get scores on cards or for commentators. Even Ali from 70 had stopped him in distance and also Haye in good night and there 0 chances to get till tickets seller's cards. The same had happened with him if he had prime " overrated " Briedis version in the ring or Dorticos from WBSS2. Ali from 70 ies had steam rolled him like a pupp and Frazier & Foreman too.
There was hardly any difference in size between Ali and Foreman. Both were 6'3, Foreman was 220lbs, Ali was 216lbs. 4lbs that's it. Less than 2kg. There was a bigger size difference between Joshua and Klitschko!
I know that. Although I recall Ali being 217, & likely the weight differential would have been somewhat more-because I assume part of what weakened George was Saddler's insane habit of having his fighter come in dehydrated. Later in his first career he could look not at all overweight in the 230's. I was showing that as an example of Ali handling someone who was much stronger than him. Foreman was as strong as a somewhat larger man, & hit harder than almost anyone.
This whole thread amazes me. Wlad was vulnerable as hell to getting KTFO, was stiff and predictable and looks like molasses next to Ali (go watch some videos), fought a bevy of nobodies and was constantly having to gaurd his stamina after 5 rounds. How TF does Ali not measure up to the guys that put Wlad down? It's not even a contest.
