To those who think Marcos Maidana beat Floyd in their first fight...

Castillo 1 was a clear robbery.. Castillo won that fight.

 

That was all in their second fight, a fight in which Maidana did not bring the same intensity and Floyd adapted and dominated (as I’ve already said).

Also let’s not ignore the fact that Floyd is a dirty fighter also, obviously in different ways, but the ways fanatics like YOU make excuses for.

 

I think I had it 7-5 Mayweather watching live. Haven't seen it since, but I remember it being the first fight where I really thought Mayweather had declined significantly. His offensive timing was off and his punches didn't have the sharpness they used to.

 

Maidana was dirty he fouled the hell outta Floyd that is not up for debate. Pbf was also cut very early in that fight which bothered him. After he adjusted to the cut he took over. Maidana won 4 of the first 6 rounds after that he did nothing because he was spent and pbf adjusted. People think Maidana won because he was roughing pbf up early but they fail to see or acknowledged PBF's work. Pbf won that fight 7-5 or 8-4.

 

Why did you lie and say Maidana bit and kneed Floyd?

The fight was one of the toughest of Floyds career, he came back and dominated the rematch. Why are you so ****ing GAY when it comes to Floyd? I’m not disputing his “greatness” just the fact that imo it was a draw with Maidana, just like I thought he lost to Castillo 1, but completely dominated both rematches.

You have to remember a fight is scored based on 4 criteria: Ring Generalship, Effective Agression, Clean + Effective Punching, and Defense. Most people just focus on punches landed. That is not the end all be all in scoring fights. Floyd is such a master in what he does as a boxer that he clearly shined in at least 3 of the categories.

 

I thought it was a close fight. I think this was around the time I stopped scoring rounds because it was too frustrating to argue about fight outcomes we have no control over. From what I remember Maidana roughed Mayweather up the first half, Mayweather adjusted and took over the last half. Regardless I think any unanswered questions were answered definitively in the rematch.

 

Watched recently, Marcos won the first half and scraped a later round.
I could live with a Mayweather draw at a push, a Floyd win was a mild robbery though.

Yeah we get it. You like guys who lead with their face in a fight, swing 1000 punches and hopefully get lucky sometimes, like Maidana did with the first Mayweather fight... and still LOST! Yes it was close but no closer than 7-5. 8-4 is more reasonable, he missed a lot.

Maidana was a tough but limited fighter, yes he'd give any human being alive a tough time in a phone booth but this isn't an Irish stand up. Boxing has codified rules to ensure you can't just do what the fu ck you want in the ring. Otherwise what's the point? Why not just stick two guys in there and one comes out alive. Guessing you'd enjoy watching that.

 

Jeff Horn was dirtier and fouled more against Pac than Maidana did against Floyd... Funny how you never acknowledge how dirty Horn was.

 

Floyd 100% won.

What Maidana deserves credit for is likely hurting Floyd worse than anyone else, but the round practically ended at the exact same moment.
