No ****. "Health concerns"? Guy runs his mouth to cringe level 12 and then expects that excuse to be acceptable?

"Better version of myself"? Wtf. Has he been doing coke and bangin hookers w/the actual Golden Boy and now needs to dry out or what? Has he got the China flu?

I think he puts too much pressure on himself. Jake Paul is in the same boat. Dude beat Askren and in the post fight interview it was clear that he had a tremendous amount of weight on his shoulders. And it´s just ridiculous.

For years now, Ryan has acted as if he were on the top of the sport having to defend his position. But that's not the reality and he knows it. I think that´s where the pressure comes from.

doesnt he have a kid? so aside from the pressure of having a franchise built around you, hes gotta deal with baby mama drama, and being a dad...at 22? he doesnt come from a broken home, hes God fearing, and he has a solid support base around him. so what is it about him thats got everyone pulling at his hair? he too pretty? talk too much ****? aint fightin the guys you want him to fight? what? help me understand.

I can believe this or something like it, but can only muster limited sympathy. It's like the Kardashians take up boxing.

Sounds like mental issues. Not sure he has it in his heart to fight, looks like a loss of focus.

I suspect that despite his public bravado, pre-fight he probably suffered from self doubts about himself and the immediate post fight celebration was most likely a release of those inner tensions.

It was also, if you think about it, a compliment to Luke Campbell. You don't celebrate wildly when beating a bum, you celebrate wildly when beating a top class operator. You've overcome yourself.

Whatever his issues are, his only real concern should be to himself.

    Health 1st, Boxing 2nd.

    Same as with all sports.

Agreed. In this social media and Twitter era more focus is sadly put into the elaborate and unnecessary ring entrances and side show than the actual boxing. It's putting fighters up to fail and being something they aren't. Wish him the best whatever is going on, but like others I feel he isn't anything special and doesn't have the heart of an old school fighter. Campbell while formidable, almost stopped him and probably should have in retrospect

I finally got exited for Garcia after he nuked Luke Campbell (even though Campbell was a shell of the man that fought Linares, he looked like a Frankenstein monster in there), but this here is just absolute mental midget stuff.

This kid could go off the rails Britney style.

Here are the demons hes grappling with.....

    ''Hes the next Oscar delahoya''

    ''Canelo Alverez is his Mentor''

''Tank is going to be my next fight''

''I have a fight bigger than Tank''

    ''Im not fighting Fortuna''

    ''Haney Mandatory'

    ''I dont care about belts''

7 problems exist for this kid and it leads back to one thing. He simply cant live up to the hype, instead of letting the truth be shown in the ring and coming back stronger and hungrier he will duck great fighters and avoid greatness. He dosnt have the mental fortitude to be a champion.

The demon is he has a secret. Hes not good enough. And he wont go through what he has to, to become good enough.

I cant believe we are babying this millionaire champion adults. Fight and lets see whos great or shut up.

Imagine thinking you have a shred of insight to the mental and emotional state, and to the demons someone else is dealing with, given the information you stated.

I give him credit. Hes creative. Most fighters in todays world of boxing would have just said they are injured. But atleast they wait untol after the fight atleast.
