In a reasonably big bout. I believe this wan an eliminator for the WBC belt, maybe a final eliminator. This content is protected Complete with terrible commentary from motormouth himself, Paulie Malignaggi. Here's a photo of the crooks just a few days ago, Malik Scott has been on that dreamerbulk. Look at his soft arms, man boobs and pot belly. https://i.ibb.co/BfYwsCx/NINTCHDBPICT000649331182.jpg
Context helps. This looks like a blatant dive. Tate even dove face first to the floor. Especially his reactions on the floor. This content is protected But you need context. It was three months after he was knocked cold by Mike Weaver. Tate was knocked out face first in the National Golden Gloves finals. He was knocked out in the Olympics. He wasn't exactly George Chuvalo. His chin betrayed him in many high-profile fights. You left out a lot of context. Wilder dropped Scott with a left hook over the ear. Scott went down a lot by shots over the ear. He couldn't stay off the floor against Ortiz when Ortiz threw shots that landed over Scott's ear. This content is protected Scott was winning every round against Tony Thompson, got caught with a seemingly weak shot over the ear in the ninth, and barely got up. This content is protected Scott did the same thing against Dereck Chisora. He was fighting fine. Took a shot over the ear. Went down and seemed to be unable to pick up the count and was counted out. This content is protected In four of his last six fights, Scott couldn't stay up any time someone hit him over the ear. Against Wilder and (according to the ref) Chisora, he didn't get up. Against the others, he did. He'd already been a pro for a dozen years and the window in his career was closing. Scott was a long time sparring partner of Wlad Klitschko, Alexander Povetkin, Joseph Parker, Andy Ruiz ... everyone. Having a headguard helped (LOL). Scott's a good guy for Wilder to have in his corner, as Malik has been in the ring sparring himself with most of the ranked heavyweights today. He knows first-hand what works and what doesn't. Scott has been in everyone's camp. He knows how all the top heavyweights' camps run and how they all work. Breland wasn't up on the current scene. He didn't go to fights. He didn't train other heavyweights or other boxers in general. Scott is a good addition.
I'm sick of hearing this. Scott fell over at the slightest touch in the Ortiz and Thompson fights and still went on to beat Thompson. There is corruption in boxing, but Scott has an established history of getting knocked down by a stiff breeze.
I think Scott even admitted it. He was on the internet the next day with photothops of himself diving, or something. Shameful.
This content is protected Now I don't think this was a dive, but 11 years ago when this fight took place many of us were arguing if this was a dive. I mainly just decided to post it because I thought it was hilarious.
How anyone can say Scott is a "good addition" is beyond me. The guy's an absolute joke and I'm not sure how I can omit context when the left hook is in the video for all to see. The left hook barely tickled him and the right hand didn't even touch him. I'm not sure how having a history of going down easily means that he didn't dive. You have actually provided a case for him being a consistent diver. See above.
