    So true, when I first saw Rocky in my Senior year of High School, I automatically thought of Muhammad Ali. I like when they introduced Smoking Joe Frazier before Rocky fights Apollo Creed. Sylvester Stallone wrote the story after watching Chuck Wepner fight Ali in March 1975.

    Sly has ripped off a lot of quotes and stories in his time writing the Rocky movies sometimes bordering on blatant theft, but I love those damn movies.

    I love it. Muhammad had a great sense of humour. And i am a big Sly and Rocky fan.

    Rocky 3 in particular reminds me of Ali-Foreman. Just lasting 3 rounds instead of 8 and Sly taking more clean hits than Ali did. But the concept of rope a dope is very similar. No doubt that Ali had a huge influence on the Rocky franchise.
