The difference is that Tyson and Foreman, despite prison and age, fought a lot of those guys. They missed each other, but you can compare how they fared against Holyfield, you don't need to look at Jaco.

Not to say Chisora is the best, but he deserves more credit for what he actually did than he would get if he was 28-2 because he ducked all those hard fights. Not sure he's getting that credit.

Yeah we can name his opponents in all those loses, they are well known heavyweights, but the fact isn't he lost them all.

Nobody is saying Chisora hasn't taken tough fights, but to suggest his resume is the best of active heavyweights is bizarre.

Resumes, or should I say "the best resumes" are normally and in my opinion correctly based on WINS.

Otherwise there would be many many journeymen who fight young Olympians and top prospects claiming to have the best resumes in the business.

Yes we should base his level on WINS only.

Infact I am a big believer in that.

Chisora’s best wins are over Malik Scott, Edmund Gerber and David Price.

I would also argue he has an unofficial win over Whyte in their first fight. I think most people had him winning that one narrowly.

    So that is his level.

My point was to counteract the people who just look at his losses and say that means he is a dog**** journeyman. He clearly isn’t and he isn’t far away from Whyte who everyone was gassing up before he got bingo’d by Povetkin.

Ugh.... Chisora's resume is good but he is just the best legit gatekeeper in the game. If you are able to win against Chisora, you can claim that you are in top10.

To be fair to chisora he has lost fights but never been one to swerve a fight. Look at his list against Wilders opponents. Yh he's been beaten but respect him. Even wobbled usky a few times, was never quite champion level but a good fighter

Best resume of any active heavyweight is Povetkin by a country mile. After that is down to opinion... but it’s not Chisora

While Povetkin's resume is better, he now is 41 years old and soon will be 42 years old, Chisora is younger than Povetkin and Pulev.

Chisora looks a bit rarity in modern HW era : he doesn't cherry pick opponents, doesn't require months long negotiations before fight contract and fight scheduled.
Looks that he had a lot fights: 2011: 3 fights, including 1X Fury, 1X Helenius.
2012: fights vs Vitali! and Haye!.
    2013: 4 fights.
    2014: 2 fights, including 1X Fury.
    2015: 4 fights.
    2016: 4 fights, including 1X Pulev, 1X Whyte.
    2017: 2 fights.
    2018: 3ights, including 1X Whyte, 1X Takam.
    2019: 2 fights.
2020: fight vs Usyk, did not looked that they had any problems to negotiate fight.
2021: soon will be fight vs Parker.

Best gatekeeper in the business, and lucky with his nationality and promoter, giving him so many unwarranted PPV paydays.

Well, the difference is how well known opponent is when fight had happened.
2012. Vitali and Haye both already were very well known to generate decent purses for boxers who fight vs them.

If you fight with young prospect, sorry, this might had happen when you both are just in some small hall show to fill undercards and he isn't considered as a prospect yet, maybe later he will be a world champion and not small number with such champs initially were lads like these.
Next level are lads who are considered as at least local prospects initially.
Then there are these boxers with impressive amateur background, when you can tell: lol, he is x and x , there medals, I think I should get better payment than you initially had offered, he is dangerous opponent, this is high risk.

When boxer is more well known in pro circles and does have better ranking and fight record, ppl knows that with them promotion might sell tickets, boxers usually attempt to ask more $ for fight with them.

Such high level ranked and well known boxers like Haye and Vitali in 2012 might offer not only chance to get very good fight purse $, also get more well known and if to beat them, then definitely even better paychecks for next fights are warranted.

I think Kevin Johnson has even more names than Chisora on his record.

So can Chisora be called a "high level journeyman"?
