This. Boxing is the only sport my bird likes genuinely likes at times. If it’s a big fight, there’s an affinity with someone or she dislikes a fighter and wants to see him lose she’ll get into it. She has a brain though and sees right through the ramming down our throats of women’s sports. She knows they’re not as good, quick or strong so doesn’t see the point in it. You’re getting an inferior product aren’t you. If more women where like her we wouldn’t have to suffer such rubbish in the name of political correctness. Promoters saving money is a big bonus in the women’s boxing game too.

Wait for the Gender Pay Gap drum being banged for Women's Boxing, "we want what AJ and Fury are getting" whilst struggling to fill a leisure centre

That is such a dated way of looking at things, its all about growth. This isnt all about the here and now its is about 20-30 years down the line. As a business you have to factor these things in as potential markets surely?

Growth in what? Something that will never be as good as a version we’ve had for hundreds of years already?
I just don’t get it. It’ll never be as good so why bother? Just so women can say that they do it as well?

Who’s to say the ‘dated’ view isn’t the correct one. Change isn’t always good. People tart it up as progress as that makes others think they’re being unreasonable if they don’t subscribe to it. People are just too easily brain washed into things being better instead of thinking for themselves .

Whilst boxing 20 mins in title fights rather than 36. The tennis one is a funny one. 3 set ‘marathons’ last 2 hours at push. This is very rare. The men’s 5 sets regularly go 5/6 or more hours.

You watch British level or even area level boxing dont you? So why would you watch an inferior fight when you can watch a top level fight instead? You can say that about any sport. Women couldn't even do most sports up until the 70s and into the 80s so its need generations to grow into something better. Just look at the deoth of talent in womens boxing, its non existent and that will only change slowly over time IF more women take up boxing,

They are doing it to grow a market and sports for women, i dont see the big issue with it personally. Will i watch? 99 times out of 100 no but im not the target audience for it. There is a growing market that sky and other outlets would be stupid to ignore as they can get it for so cheap and help the growth.

I agree with the second paragraph but nobody is being unreasonable its just we, i presume youre at least mid 30s, are not the target for this really. Its for the next generations.

I cant understand the darts. Women play less sets in that too.. Is it really a big thing throwing your arm that they can t do the usual amount?

Darts involves a gruelling training camp full of sacrifice, Andy Fordham will tell you that

Yep. It's nothing do with giving them time, investing more money or letting the talent pool grow. It's human biology. Women are rubbish at fighting and always will be.

But elite women aren't even mid tier school boy level when you compare them to males. There will be 13-14 year-old boys in boxing gyms all over the country who will only ever participate in the sport as a hobby who would make light work of Katie Taylor and Natasha Jonas one after the other.

I was just pointing out that he said whats the point if the product is inferior so why bother? We dont always watch elite level sport and thats it.

Also that comment is ridiculous. Katie Taylor was doing alright in sparring against rigo, but some 13 year old hobbiest will batter her? Give over.

I played football at a decent amateur level but i know for a fact i wouldn't get into elite women sides. Unless i was a keeper :)

Quality doesn't mean anything for interest. Loma v Campbell flopped as a ppv and Hearn recently said it's the most he's lost on a card even though it was a p4p great v a gold medalist Brit. Whyte v a 42 year old in his garden did better.

If you watch Harry’s heroes the fat 50 odd year old ex players drew with Palace women (top in their version of championship)

They were absolutely battered by under 14 lads.
