I'm trying to think of a bigger one-fight stock drop than Wilder-Fury II. In the first fight Wilder showed what got him to that stage. He was lightly outboxed a la Fury-Klitschko and looked confident and gunning for the kill until the final minute when Fury pressed forward. I believe Wilder was a slight favorite in the rematch despite common consensus being that he was awarded a Drawbbery in the first fight. All said and done, he was neck and neck with the other two massively hyped HW's of a massively hyped division. The manner in which he was defeated was so brutal, shocking, and complete, that no one watching could ever imagine his stock being as high as it was. This was an Enron level stock meltdown. Everything the haters had been saying for 7 years was being shown, crystal clear, on the biggest stage for all to see. Joshua getting battered, beat up, and stopped by a fat and unprepared Andy Ruiz didn't even see as much of a drop in stock. What are some other MASSIVE one-fight stock drops?
AJ vs Ruiz was the biggest. He went from the ultimate A Side fighter to someone who would have to give ground in negotiations. Without that loss he'd be demanding and getting lion shares against everyone out there. Now he has to settle for what the negotiation achieves.
Wilder vs Fury 2. Wilder went from arguably number 1 in the world to someone who's now borderline top 10.
Lucian Bute losing to Carl Froch. Edit: Not on the magnitude of Fury Wilder II. But I'm scratching my head trying to think of a bigger stock drop.
This is a good one. Some people thought Bute wasn't obligated to enter the super six as he was CLEARLY the number one in the division, and that the winner of the super six would face him to settle it all. Bute was a 2-1 favorite against Froch in Nottingham despite his 12th round ref rescue and Froch's good performances in the super six. Getting by Froch was an afterthought and the mega fight with Ward was on the horizon. Now Froch is a Wembley legend and Bute is a guy who got KO'd by GGG in the ams then went on to have a lukewarm Canada career.

Fury was the favorite in the rematch (Wilder wasn't). They fought for the LINEAL title and Fury (the favorite) won. Wilder remains at #2. They will likely fight again next for the Lineal title. Wilder has literally NOT FALLEN A SINGLE SPOT since the loss. Fury comes in at +105, meaning you'd need to wager $100 to win $105, and Wilder comes in at -125, meaning if you bet $125, you'd net $100. Wilder was the favorite. Wasn't around then so can't really speak on it. Was the sentiment that Tyson would quickly rematch and defeat Douglas? While it was a bigger upset by a mile, I can see a lot of the public being sold on Tyson still being the dominant HW and remedying the fluke loss. Wilder on the other hand? Very, very few believers remain.
