So Ruiz went the distance with the 40 year old Arreola and even got floored in the second round while Wilder knocked him out four years earlier while being in total control the whole fight. It’s one of those typical phenomenon where a bunch of people just start repeating the same stupid thing and other people take it as granted.
Wilder is definitely number two in the heavyweight division and he would kill Joshua inside five rounds. He wasn’t born with a magical right hand that bails him out of every fight but he is rather very precise with it and developed a very specific technique and ridiculous athleticism.

I agree 100%. Fury is Wilder's boogeyman, Wilder would crush Joshua, and make it look easy.

Why does everyone on this forum think because X beat Y then X will beat A. There are a lot of fans of this sport that still seem to not have figured out that's not how it works. Or is it just a lazy way to be 'right' and make another thread about the fighter you love?

Well this is true if Fighter A and B face C in a comparable form.
But when a A beats C by ko when C is in a much better form, then when B defeated C only by decision against in a much worse form, you can definitely make assumptions from those to match ups of who’s the better fighter.

AJ is more skilled than Wilder and Fury is ducking AJ.

Wilder is more powerful than Ruiz and Arreola looked flabby v Ruiz.

Agree about AJ/Wilder but confused about Fury ducking AJ, where is the evidence of that?

Wilder isn't underrated at all. He is a dangerous puncher who has zero boxing skills. Take away his power and you have Fury -Wilder Ii.

    Not really.

We all know what happened with Frazier, Ali and Foreman.

Arreola was extremely motivated and in decent shape, and Ruiz hadn’t fought in a long time.

It was also a good stylistic match up.

Wilder has literally struggled with low level fighters before his power has bailed him out. And when he can’t land his huge right hand, he’s extremely vulnerable.

I don’t think that you can say that Wilder is definitely the second best HW in the world right now.

Arreola had a longer absence from the ring than ruiz and you cannot become better in your 40s then in your 30s just because you’re more motivated especially if you haven’t been as active as 10 years ago

This doesn’t say anything about Wilder, but It shows that Ruiz is far from what AJ fans have made him out to be in the last 2 years.

Wilder is definitely not #2 and he gets sparked out by AJ inside 5. Simply not good enough. Ruiz is struggling to adapt to a new change of trainer that’s all. Valdez looked terrible in his fight before Berchelt where he got dropped by a nobody. Ruiz at best still batters and stops chinny Wilder.

AJ batters and stops that lanky f**ker.
