Hagler's jab was like a piston, especially during his prime. Ram rod jab that was very deadly and accurate. Makes you wonder why he wasn't able to put it to good use against Leonard. Had he fought as a southpaw all the way through and used the left jab more it would have been a totally different outcome.
Well ****, I was friendly with brook and never even knew that. I'd straight off tell him today how wroth that revelation has me, absolutely consumed by the green eyed monster. Sitting pretty over here like a pig in filth because of my one degree of separation (used to work the mitts and do light sparring with a trainer at my old gym from the old Petronelli circle whom Marv would often use as cannon fodder during his camps) but FFS...drinking the ambrosia direct from the damn tap, I can only imagine how blessed he felt. Glad he got to.
His ability to power jab with both hands from orthodox and southpaw is the best I've seen, Most fighters that switched stances usually did not have the same effectiveness with the jab . Hagler though was just as effective from either stance.
Best thing about his jabS is that he could be equally effective with that punch from either side. A lot of switch hitters can use the jab for power from the dominant hand but merely annoy with it from the other (if that). Not Marvin. He was effective with it both ways, a tribute to his dedication to perfecting his tools.
