Hey my friend, all good points regarding prime George Foreman vs Andy Ruiz, but you left out the fact that Andy Ruiz does his training lifting super heavy Snickers Bars, Lol.
Psychologically thinking about a prime George Foreman right after sending champion Joe Frazier to the canvas 6 times in two rounds on Jan 22 1973, he would possibly do the same to Andy Ruiz of the first Anthony Joshua bout. True Andy has modern training techniques on his side, that does not necessarily mean that he would do the same to a 1968 Olympic Champion, who was touted by then President Of The U. S. Lyndon B. Johnson for waiving the American flag following his victory in Mexico City. Prime George Foreman has not fought either Muhammad Ali, or Ron Lyle yet, fans were comparing George as the second coming of Sonny Liston. Andy would charge into Foreman, only to be shoved back off balance. Then the fusillade of wild hard thudding punches would commence, Andy would not have an answer to the hurtful blows that resemble a tornado thrown by Foreman. Having destroyed a legend like Joe Frazier would inflate such an ego. Andy would not be able to control the onslaught of blows. With a corner of Archie Moore and D. Sadler cheering George on, Andy falls to the canvas in round 2, spelling the end, Foreman in those days was not equipped to pace himself, not like in 1991, as when as a bald fighter, he sold grills on television.
Yes psychology plays a huge role in a fighters ability h2h. After winning the title Foreman had an insane amount of confidence and composure. Look at how he casually rested his arms on the ropes with a blank expression after flooring Frazier. Few heavyweights in history would be able to deal with that version of George, he was like a juggernaut.
I believe the fight would end via KO, when I don’t know, you would have to ask Foreman when he wanted to end it.
Just think it would be a mistake if George brings his grill in between rounds to cook his steak meat. Might antagonize that blob , and cause him to pick Foreman apart quicker when he's fighting on a empty stomach!
I feel a bit bad for Andy. He's no can. He's a good fighter. He'll never win a physique contest, but this is fighting. He's good. A lot better than the likes of Joseph Parker. You'd have to go with Foreman, but Ruiz could well make it interesting.
I would pick the comeback version of old George to knock Andy out by the mid rounds. Never mind what prime George would have done to him.
First Round of Prime Foreman vs Ruiz would be like the third round of Joshua vs Ruiz 1 with the difference that Ruiz is badly battered and covered in blood and is driven to a hospital and dies shortly afterwards. Referees from back then would not stop such slugfest , no way. A modern referee stops the fight way earlier where Ruiz will probably still be alive.
