Agreed, if he walks away he'll never hear the end of it. It's a horrible look for Billy to pull out. But anyone who tells you ring size doesn't matter is a fool. And I'll be honest, ring size is usually a mystery in boxing and I think we should always have a record for every fight at exactly what the ring size is. Sometimes it's hard to tell exactly how big the ring is inside the ropes, and we end up guessing.

Both sides are standing their ground. It is not unreasonable for Canelo to hold firm at 20 feet. That's the standard. Saunders want to get every advantage they can, they know they need it so they're holding firm at 22 feet. At this point, I think 21 feet is the best solution because that way both sides can feel that they got something out of it. Though I don't think a 21 foot ring has ever been used before, but it may be the only solution that can save this fight.

Laughable that he asked for a 24ft ring and uses that as a way to say they want a "fair shake".

20ft is standard and Billy joe is a very clear B- side. So get on with it or go back to fighting in leisure centres in England

I don't know about this fight and have no interest about clenelo contracts.
Law degree is not necessity, you might demand to include ring size in contract and might not ask this.
I even do not care about this fight at all.

Lower ranked boxers: I I remember, from 4 last contracts 3 had included ring size mentioned, 1 not.
Don't have intent to bring up old stuff.

They would probably have to custom build a 21 foot ring, as I think they always come in increments of 2 feet. I’m sure they can get it done though with the amount of money on the line.

Canelo's team agreed to go from 18ft to 20ft. That is fair. Saunders is embarrassing if he walks away.

I wouldn't worry boys...Hearns just announced who's stepped in as the replacement.and it's actually a great fight....it's Tyson fury at a 174 pound catch-weight....fury has agreed to it...but canelo has demanded that fury has to be chained to the ring post....and have his arms broken

If the size of the ring was a dealbreaker, they should have made it a part of the deal.

If the ring size hasn't been agreed to by both parties, then it's still up for negotiations. Like I said, both sides dropped the ball on this.

Whats the average size of a championship ring?

I thought 20ft was the regular size?

Time is running out. They need to agree before they can build the ring. Both sides need to realize that the event is bigger than either of them. But neither should feel like they aren't on equal footing. I know how Billy feels, he just wants a fair shake and feels like he's being thrown in a phone booth. But he's also threatening to pull out despite being in the best shape of his life, which if he does will hurt him a lot more than it will hurt Canelo. Billy while speaking of fairness also made it clear that it should be fair to Canelo as well. Given the situation, 21 feet is fair to both. Both give a foot to meet in the middle.

Saunders getting cold feet because he knows Canelo will walk him down. He needs a 24 foot ring so he can win a couple rounds and survive lmao. If saunders is some master slickster on the backfoot like these fanboys make him out to be a 20 foot ring should be sufficient
