Frank loses. He'd do OK for a while but Louis is patient. When he spots an opening, he'd drive a killer right hand through, that cracks Frank's jaw and make his legs turn to jelly. An assortment of perfectly placed punches, has Bruno gone against the ropes, where his corner jump in to save him.
Ok. What happens if Bruno lands a big right hand on Louis’s jaw? How does Joe survive. Never in a million years will Frank be mentioned in the same sentence as Louis in terms of greatness. But what happens if Frank gets a shot in?
Louis got up from the canvas to win many times before Bruno could hurt you but his finishing ability wasn't good enough to put away Joe Louis I'd say
Joe Louis wait for Bruno to make a mistake, turn it into his advantage and knocks Frankie so far he skips the oceans and ends up in the UK. But there is no way Louis doesn't headbutt the canvas himself early.
Enough of the love fest for Bruno, a mediocre HW champ, down their with , Sharkey, Willard, in my eyes, and against Louis !!!! please a little more imagination fellas. keep well.
Has boxing stayed still in time.? 100m time improved. Long jump. Football players bigger stronger faster. Boxing in most weights you can compare eras. But yesteryears heavyweights are today’s Cruiserweights. I’m not saying Bruno beats Louis. But remarks like WTF and is it Bruno’s birthday. Joe Louis is Arguably the greatest. Arguably. Up against him is Ali and maybe Lewis. We’re not on about achievements and greatness and social impact. We’re on about what happens IF a modern super fit powerful big heavyweight connects. Not Tony Golento or James J Braddock. But a huge punching super heavyweight. So Louis hunts him down. Not holds on for dear life. And maybe survives the bombs that will be aimed at him. Just does what he’s done against above mentioned opponents. Sorry forgot Buddy Baer as well. Thats get up and does a complete number on Bruno.
Louis was 6'2 and 207 lbs in the second Baer fight. In comparison, Tyson was 5'11 and You can't compare boxing to 100 m jumping. There is no heavyweight today as fast as Ali or even Tyson. None. The heavies today are often carrying 15-20 lbs of extra weight on them. It doesn't hurt them too badly in a 12 round fight but would in a 15 round where endurance is more crucial. Louis is a puncher of Tyson's caliber. Bruno isn't much, if any better than a Bude Baer. The Louis of the second Baer fight would destroy Bruno in 2 rounds.
Fair enough. But I thinks Bruno gives Louis a few scary moments. Probably a bit longer than 2 rounds though.
I don't disagree. Louis could be careless at times, like against Galento or against Budy in their first right. Bruno could punch so he could definetely give Louis a few scary moments. If a focused Louis shows up, its a different ball game.
Bruno, eventually an alpha holder, all set up for him by Frank Warren at Wembley against McCall, who should have been having treatment, rather than being in a boxing ring. Bruno was lucky to get past Jumbo Cummings, Joe Louis, come on!
