Even when brutally picking apart Canelos resume it’s still way ahead of bj SANDERS resume. Silly game to play. I too, thought SANDERS looked rattled at the face off. He knows he’s out of his depth here, he knows he couldn’t put a shot to pieces formally retired Martin Murray to bed. He knows his best win is still a hotly disputed SD against a green kid who had never fought in a 12rounder before. NOTHING to me suggests SANDERS is here for anything other than a big bag of loot and a big KO loss. Even money is huge value for me. I’m all over it.
The problem is with them opponents, and of course you can pick holes in any performance, but if we look at it logically; Yildrim - Agreed rubbish fight against a rubbish fighter - but you can only beat who’s in front of you and he did what you’d expect an elite fighter to do to someone who is top 25 at best. Callum Smith - regardless of weight he was considered top 3 at SMW Kovalev - regardless of being past it, Kov was the bigger man and top 3 at LHW with Bivol / Beterbiev. Likely an ATG LHW. Jacobs - Top 5 middleweight who beat everyone not called Canelo or Golovkin Fielding - Bigger man but poor opponent and was rubbish - never seen someone so happy to get battered before Golovkin 2 - Stood on the front foot against GGG that no-one had ever done. Brilliant performance even if you didn’t score it for him (I did) Golovkin 1 - I don’t see the screaming robbery in this fight, never have done. Might just be how I score boxing - I scored it a draw on the night but it was a truly elite level fight. Chavez - Beat up a rubbish bigger man, they used it to announce the GGG fight. Liam Smith - A good champion at that weight, not elite level but a solid fight Amir Khan - Size difference was agreeably out of order here. You could slaughter BJS for the last 5 years, who only has 2 respectable wins in that time period really. The fact of the matter is that Canelo has consistently boxed top 5 weight boxers with the few exceptions. BJS, at his best, has the style to give him trouble. My issue is that he hasn’t challenged himself for sometime now whereas Canelo has been boxing at those fine margins and this is what the difference will be on fight night. As a few have mentioned, I see BJS going negative to try and survive after tasting Canelo’s power. I don’t think he has the massive heart he keeps saying - he’s never really been against it and his attitude out of the ring stinks if we’re honest - he is a nobhead. I hope he wins for British boxing but he’s hardly our great hope like Hatton going against Floyd or Lennox going to the states.
BJS ribbing Canelo for 'liking' the Mexican beef yet no self awareness for liking the 'nasal sprays'.
Mate your going to look a fool when billy joe uses gypsy magic on the overrated Mexican. Good Boxers beat great fighters. Fact
No reason why Billy Joe can't win this fight. The last great boxer Canelo faced was Erislandy Lara and he lost that fight. BJS wins a 7-5 / 8-4 kind of fight. Not sure he gets the decision though!
From what I see so far Canelo looks completely focused, Billy looks like he has to rely on stupid macho comments to believe himself. Think we will see Canelo best fight to date and brutal KO cos I think he does actually hate him. 7-8th round.
That’s what I keep alluding to as well. The last southpaw Canelo faced and the one brilliant mover since Floyd too. Canelo has improved but if anyone thinks Canelo is going to have a boxer like Bill figured out early they are kidding themselves IMO. It took Canelo at least three rounds just to start timing welterweight Khan. It took him the second half of the fight to start landing on Kovalev who was up on most people’s cards at the time of the stoppage. The biggest factor will be Saunder’s durability.
Wtf are you going on about you complete whopper....cheating pregnant wives and husbands !..you've thought that and looked at canelo and said that's what he's thinking ? Jesus Christ Btw sorry the kid wasn't yours x
Kovalev was landing anything on Canelo and wasn`t throwing his right hand because of Canelo`s counter hook, Saunders is going to get caught by a lot of Canelo`s hooks as he tries to escape off the ropes.
I know that Kovalev wasn’t throwing the right hand. Doesn’t change the fact that he was comfortably outboxing Canelo for the majority of the fight. Saunders is not a predictable fighter who moves in one direction and likewise Canelo has to be wary he doesn’t get caught on the counter.
