What will the Canelo haters say? -Saunders was a nobody -Saunders is shot -Canelo fights trash -Judges were bought
Saunders has zero legacy at 168. That's just fact. He's talented but that's subjective, resume wise he has done nothing as a SMW. Literally there is not a single name worth a **** on his resume.. Fairly thin at MW too.. Call it hate if u want but it's actually just the reality of the situation. So if Canelo wins then fair play but don't hype it up as something it isn't.
Are you going to look up what each one said before the fight or are you going to assume everyone was picking BJS to win.
He was hurt badly by Isufi, went life and death against Coceres who most on here had winning at the time of the stoppage IIRC albeit I could be wrong, and he beat a washed up 38 y/o Martin Murray in his last fight. None of us had heard of Isufi or Coceres prior to then and Coceres just split a pair of fights with a 16-3 guy. BSJ 2.o is very slick and talented but he's making a gargantuan leap up in class here, has been pretty inactive, and Clenelo is big, strong, powerful and far more impressive at this weight than BJS 2.0 has been and he's got an awful lot going against him here. If this was at 160 BJS 2.0 would stand a better chance but he'd still have to start as a huge underdog and would have to raise his level to one we hitherto haven't seen from him before.
If he outboxes Saunders clearly or stops him in a believable way (not one shotting a guy who took shots from Lee and Lemieux), then I doubt he wouldn't get credit. There's still the PED issue with Canelo that won't go away and why should it. His power increased along with his endurance while going up weight classes with ease. He visibly, physically changed, and was busted. Don't even compare Saunders' spray, which was actually allowed in the UK so can hardly be the same level of enhancement as roid beef. But since Saunders was given a full camp, no hydration clause, if the judges don't play a role in this, Canelo will get a lot of credit for beating one of the best boxers out there.
