Come on now, we can’t pretend that the Dubois fight didn’t happen. It did, and the boxing community, including BJS, effectively called him a quitter after fighting nearly the full fight with that injury. On top of that we’ve had team BJS saying all this crazy stuff all week and beyond. Obviously he’s going to get bantered.
Yeah, I just think of guys like Arturo Gatti or Mickey Ward, would they quit like that, in a fight that they were competitive in? Hell no. Even Vitali had his eye practically falling out and was rushing to get out there verse Lennox.
I vehemently defended both Brook and Dubois and if it turns out BJS 2.0 did quit and wasn't pulled out by his corner I won't defend him given what he said about Dubois.
if you had just stopped after the first sentence, i would have finally found something near respect for you. but youre true to that stripe.
I think quitting should be for the corner and not the fighter. The corner was absolutely right to stop it, if he couldnt see he couldn't out manoeuvre canelo and was just a suicide mission. If billy called it then im surprised, i dont think its in his dna to quit.
BJS isn’t a quitter for quitting with that. He’s getting heat because he’s lambasted others for the same thing. Pot. Kettle.
How the fk do u know if he was injured or not?! & his corner stopped it not him. So no, it wasn't him quitting.
The whole corner, including Billy were in agreement about stopping the fight. Tibbs has confirmed this apparently.
Neither you, nor the numerous other posters who made similar claims, have a clue as to whether or not it was a quit job. Only BJS and his doctors know the answer. If he got a broken orbital bone like Kell Brooks suffered against GGG, then the quit was not only excusable, but ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. If he just had a badly bruised eye, then he should have continued. I had it 4 -4 after eight. Regardless of what was wrong with the eye, little or much, I'm of the opinion that if he continued with that blindside, he was going to get stopped, or lose the last four rounds.
Like I said, I won't defend him after him saying that if it does turn out it wasn't his corner who pulled him out. If that's the case he brought the heat on himself.
