Forget Canelo, Billy Joe Saunders toughest opponent is actually himself.

 

The exact moment "Debbie Harry" BJS heart shattered into a 1000 pieces.

 

I had Canelo slightly up, going in to the 8th. Either I got suckered in to the Canelo hype or underestimated Billy. Glad it was closer than I thought it would be though.

 

Saunders did a Dubois.

 

Dubois to his credit fought on for rounds, blind and in pain.

Saunders jacked it immediately.

 

I had Canelo up by two and he looked like he was about to pile it on. Saunders in my opinion, was on the verge of getting beat up, regardless of injury. Good effort from BJS up until he retired. Canelo is an awesome fighter.

 

Mark has said that BJS cheek was caved in and that he wasn’t getting the response he wanted from him in the corner. Different circumstances, but his father has lived with sending Michael Watson out for another round so right call by Mark. There was absolutely no protest from BJS so he clearly knew himself that he it was over.

 

I just watched a replay on DAZN, on a bigger TV and in the corner at the end of the 8th round you can clearly see the damage and pulling him out was really the only call to make because the fight was over the moment the punch landed.

That uppercut was a brutal shot and I did not notice it so much watching it live but watching the replay on a bigger screen as another poster said it was effectively a one punch knock out victory for Canelo.

 

Yeah, realistically, he couldn't go on like that against Canelo Alvarez.

 

Only watched highlights, I wasn't getting up for that, two typing kids mean sleep is a precious commodity in my house.

Delighted Canelo won, probably even happier that Billy Joe appeared to quit when the going got tough.

There hasn't been a bigger ***** in British boxing in my memory, so to see him getting "stopped" like that was rather funny.

In all honesty he was right to stop, but in the sport that he's in, and with his personality, people will gang up on him and call him a quitter, and I for one will not have one ounce of sympathy for him.

For all the bad mouthing disrespectful actions through the years, this was great to watch. Canelo is true class and showed the only way to shut the twat up.

 

Takes a lot to make me happy the Brit lost to a druggie American/Mexican but the bully and all round dickhead managed to do it. His biggest boxing achievement.

 

I couldn’t be happier. BJS represents everything I despise about this country.

Canelo is a joy to watch, he's in a league of his own.

 

Canelo is juiced to the absolute gills. His increase in power and velocity is the most unnatural thing I have ever seen. He throws every shot at 200% and could do it for four days. All he has to do is plod forward throwing juice bombs an the cards are rigged already, couple that with his iron chin and he is completely unbeatable.

I don’t think I have seen him throw a jab in three fights. He just throws maximum effort hooks and shoes no sign of slowing down, in fact he appears to get stronger hahaha
