My money's on the young warrior's code disciple now. I can only see him taking BJ into deep waters and drowning him. Last night showed that, despite all the lip, he doesn't have the gypsy heart like someone like fury. Kell tried to fight on a bit from what I remember. DDD recently also fought a few rounds with the juggernaut in front of him. Plus the blond lass. He also might be packing glass eyes now, would they hold up to young Chris's storm of uppercuts?
Biggest quit job ever from saunders....take one hard punch and quit.....if Kell Brooks peak career was ruined/ended prematurely for all intents and purposes by his continuining in the spence fight.....and let's recall he was on top after 8 rounds ....that horrific injury changed that...by kell fighting on for 3 rounds with blind courage ...why couldnt saunders carry on for even 30 seconds...he went on about dubois and went way ott humiliating that kid ....there was no comparison between bjs and Brook ...brook knew his injury was bad given golovkin had crushed the bone in his previous fight...brook had fought his heart out that night too vs ggg....and the difference is brook was very much a guy with genuine claims of being on the fringes of being an elite fighter after beating Shawn Porter in America ....Brook is so disrespected these days but theres a world of difference between him and bjs.world of difference
Saunders is never taking this rematch, it was SEVEN years ago when they were both green. He was never interested in it before this fight and certainly won't be now he has his payday.
It's a bad sign when the first time someone gets to taste proper adversity in their career they completely flap it. He's made a fair bit of dosh to be fair, but unless he comes back, he's not considered anywhere close to the top p4p british boxers list.
Saunders as I highlighted before the Canelo fight - doesn’t have the power to keep top fighters off him, he also doesn’t have the work rate to out work Chris. He’s definitely a better boxer but he’s not knocking Eubank out and he’s certainly not out working him. I’d favour Eubank.
Guy can't see out of his eye and he's taking shots from arguably the World number one, he's not up on the cards and an already tough job becomes impossible. Potentially a few big shots, that he might not be able to see coming, away from a lifechanging injury for him and his family, gets pulled out, verdict - coward, no heart etc etc Jesus
He deserves everything he gets. He treats vulnerable people like chit. And he loved talking about how Daniel Dubois quit when he fought for several rounds after breaking his orbital bone. He is a scumbag, shame Canelo didn't land one one his chin after destroying his face.
This quit thing in boxing has got to stop. There are so many fighters including BJS who spout this rubbish about never quitting and criticising others when they feel they have to. MMA looks absolutely brutal to me yet I don't hear nonsense about fighters quitting when they tap out. It's seems to be perfectly acceptable? Canelo broke Saunders face. It would be ridiculous for him to fight on and risk permanent blindness for some mythical warrior code rubbish. That injury will probably finish his career. Judging on last night I still think that version of BJS would beat Eubank but who knows what will be left of BJS (psychologically) should he come back. He's minted, isn't motivated at the best of times so he's likely finished now anyway.
There's a certain irony about Jnr calling Saunders a quitter when he once quit before a fight could be signed, watched the fighter that took his place get a fractured eye socket and then subsequently go on to mock him too. Warrior Code - watch others do what you are scared to and mock them after
Saunders will probably retire now after an injury of this magnitude. He's done everything he can in boxing. I think Canelo could injure and stop Eubank Jr in the same fashion or worse than Saunders. Eubank Jr isn't a big puncher and isn't hard to hit clean.
You could be right in your prediction regarding Jr. I also agree, Saunders is mentally broken and his heart isn't what he said it was. Can't continue on for his own safety.
