I've only ever seen him hurt once vs Jose Cotto when fought at 147. Floyd stunned him with an uppercut but other than that, I don't think anyone else has troubled him, even vs GGG twice he took his shots

He got buckled by GGG late in their second fight iirc but he recovered very quickly, that's the only time I've seen him close to damaged in years, dude has an iron chin for sure

I am pretty sure Paulie Malignaggi could knock out Canelo. Paulie could really punch.

Definitely an ATG chin. His defense helps tremendously though. Hard to catch him clean or land too many to actually put him in trouble.

1:45 round 11, closest I've seen canelo getting hurt in a long long time, and both times he recovered in 20 odd seconds

Yeah, nothing suspect. Gets wobbled by a guy his natural size then fast forward and now can't be hurt by MW's and up.
Whether it's the extra musculature on the neck post Clen or something else, it doesn't add up like a lot of things.

Basically that jump to MW for the Golovkin fight is the period he became extremely enhanced in every way. Power, endurance, chin. It's obviously another reason he ducked GGG, not just to age GGG, but to chemically enhance himself. It all makes sense because Golovkin at that time was basically considered invincible.

Golovkin has badly hurt everyone he's ever fought, true MW's and up, not those who ''needed time'' to grow into MW. Golovkin landed on Canelo plenty in both fights, did stun him a few times, but that's it. Canelo apparently takes everything now.

His defense is what really helps.

He has reached the point where he is hard to hit clean even with straights.

Never seen Canelo actually hurt honestly. Maybe stunned slightly but that’s about it

The shots in the videos stung him more than stunned him. Canelo is so good at moving his head and rolling with punches he takes a lot of the impact off of them. Plus even when GGG catches him he can take the shot and that’s not easy to do. Love GGGs jab, it was a weapon with considerable impact. Both these guys brought out something special in each other. Shame about all the other bs around the fights.

Look at how think and wide his neck is - that is gonna help a lot I'd say.

Aside from that even when he get's caught he's usually moving his head away from the blow, softening the impact and effect - very rarely does he get caught flush.

Pretty impressive chin considering hes been in with some huge punchers and never dropped.
