He gave Bowe a tough fight. I believe Bowe started to go a little low on him as well. It’s an underrated scrap.

 

The way he sunk to the canvas speak louder than anything he could say later.

 

The reason GEORGE FOREMAN'S strength and power do not get mentioned, no one remembers him hitting them!!! I notice ALI never gave BIG GEORGE a rematch even after he'd been the number # 1 contender nov 1974-77

 

Foreman was effectively retired in november 1974. He came back in early '76 and became nr 1 contender later that year, but then lost some months later and retired again.

 

All those wins were in 1976. He did jack **** for the whole of 1975 and fell in the rankings as a result.

So more checking up on things and less caps might be an idea.

 

The evidence does somewhat point to Ali didn't want any more of Foreman.But we will never know for sure

 

Sports Illustrated did a story some years ago during George’s comeback where they interviewed a bunch of guys who had fought him with the basic question, ‘What’s it like to get hit by George Foreman?’

The word that came up multiple times was ‘numb.’ He hits you on your arm, you can’t feel your arm. He jabs you, you can’t feel your face. Etc.

Not many guys in that stratosphere.

 

Foreman himself has stated the hardest punches can’t be felt. That he just felt nothing and was on the canvas picking himself up.
