Dirrell withdrew because he was hit after the bell by Abraham basically cheating so you can understand US fighters not fighting abroad and US is the capital of prime time boxing. None of the guys you mentioned wanted to fight Ward again outside the US because he kicked their ass.
I think most acknowledge that he’s a great fighter. The reason he’s disliked is because of the A-side scorecards and his PED use.
I am not trying to change your mind or anybody’s. All I am asking for is proof to back up a strong assertion.
RJJ was orders of magnitude above his opponents. Won every round for years. His athletic ability was easy to see for anyone with their eyes open. Once he lost his speed he became ordinary. Canelo hasn't struggled with anyone lately because they were very inferior. GGG, Lara, Trout, Jacobs, yes even Saunders won rounds against him, and they aren't ATG's (maybe GGG). AGAIN....I want to see him against Bivol and/or Beterviev.
Largely agree. The underestimating of Gvodzyk here is puzzling. He ate some big shots from both Adonis and Beterbiev, KO'd the former and gave the latter a hell of a fight, but he somehow folds up against Canelo??
To be fair 160 through heavy weight tends to be lousy with talent. RJJ jr also has a bigger frame. He is 5' 11' and was able to go up to heavyweight. Canelo is 5'8" but he's fighting guys who are much taller and can pack on just as much weight or more. He is looking vulnerable, but that is what makes his fights more interesting.
if anyone wants to refuse giving Canelo his due they will have to deal with latin,,, he won fair and square and the score cards therefore dont matter,,, powerful shot to the eye socket,,,, Canelo is pretty fast and hits very hard,
He will clean out 168 lbs 1st , Then he will move up. I don’t see it as a knock that he “loses rounds “, When he is KOing all of his opponents at 168. he is out classing his opponents at that weight much like RJJ not with sheer speed & athletic ability no but with superb counter punching, timing & explosive power. either way the result is the same domination of the division. & unlike Roy he is not relying on sheer athletic ability ... his prime / career should be significantly longer then Roy’s because of that.
