@Jpreisser ok to address your first point GGG was WBA Champ and Jacobs was WBA titlist rules for mandatory state the regular titlist gets like 30% in most cases tho the regular champ is a nobody Jacobs asked for 35% and the fight was almost canceled because of it.

2 Lemuix being a champ and not a JV champ looking to become a real champions team dictated to by a sanctioning body and considering where they fought at Lemuix had somewhat of a based but comparing Lemiuex and Jacobs to any real relevant STAR is irresponsible.

next America is the Mecca of boxing all the foreign soil **** doesn’t mean anything everybody from America is from somewhere else, you say GGG hasn’t had a fight fall through I say what BIG fight has he been in? Didn’t he fight Rolls at a catchweight? Didn’t he try to fight Chavez jr at 168 but demand that Ward fight at a catchweight? Didn’t both Trout and Lara call him out after the 154-68 nonsense only for him to make excuse that fighting Monroe and Wade is the same thing?

next point you say Cotto never offered anything serious I say what makes you say that outside of the illusion that GGG is most feared let’s be logical Cotto has fought vastly better fighters than GGG has moved up in weight for better comp has taken catchweight a for better comp and fought the legit MW champ in Martinez considering that GGG is supposedly being ducked by anybody else when a big star says they’ll fight you at a weight you yourself said you’d fight at and YOU refuse how is that on them? Neither you or I know if Cotto was serious we just have a history of one fighter making big fights and the other not making big fights.

now in regards to your last point about competition Jacobs was competitive with GGG not Canelo both Trout and Lara even Saunders were more competitive fights, now if we want to breakdown fighters Trout was an unbeaten Champ who just come off beating Cotto who in turn was coming off a high after giving a competitive fight to Mayweather. Cotto is vastly better than Jacobs or any win Jacobs has Lara only loss was to Williams and that fight was literally voted robbery of the year.
Jacobs on the other hand outside of Quillin had been dropped in like 10 straight fights including a bunch of close skin of teeth decisions look at his last fight arguably losing to rosado..
By my count Jacobs as far as I know the only Wolrd Champs he’s ever even fought were Canelo and GGG.
Dervanchenko is like 13-3 in a span of 4 fights has lost to Jacobs,GGG and Charlo and has beaten absolutely no one of note he somehow got a vacant title shot coming off a loss twice yet because GGG struggled he’s a good fighter?
Let’s stop playing games here I don’t think highly of most of these new fighters but AT LEAST o can say world champion and point out something they’ve done... GGG opponents get a name because GGG struggled and even if they never do anything before or after are touted as quality fighters..
Look at Lemuix dude won a vacant title lost his next fight has never beaten a relevant fighter before or since and ppl still act like he’s something to write home about

It's time for GGG to hang them up. He's now not as great as he used to be.

If Pirog didn't get injured, we would have seen him fight another top fighter. He's had an unlucky career where fighters ducked him in his prime. Lara wouldn't move up. Martinez wouldn't fight him. Cotto didn't want to fight him. BJS didn't want to fight him. Canelo stayed at Canelo weight for years to avoid a prime GGG.

GGG is probably the best fundamental boxer of this generation, with the best jab in the last 20 years. He's not super athletic, but his footwork and boxing skills were exceptional. His jab was so effective, it threw Canelo off of his game completely and prevented him from fighting his fight.

GGG-Pirog would have been an incredible fight.

Everyone who liked this post are all known ee scrubs.. Canelo fought him when the ball was in his court a year and a half later. He vacated because the WBC was trying to force him into the fight.. this isnt news, its common knowledge.

Pacquaio waited for plenty of fighters to get old, lets not play that card. We know he didnt want to fight slick african american boxers either.

If Canelo keeps winning, Golovkin's legacy will appreciate considerably... He insisted on the guy who will probably go down as the best fighter of his generation and damn near beat him twice.

Plus, prime GGG was the most feared fighter since Tyson... Dude had skills and an aura and everybody loved watching him fight. Dunno why it's always gotta be mutually exclusive with some of y'all.

In my view Golovkin was ducked up until most observers felt he was losing a step.

Had Sturm, Quillan, Saunders, Martinez and Cotto all chosen to fight Golovkin when he was trying to fight them, we wouldnt be having this conversation.

So hard for me to blame him there.

As for moving up... I'll never expect or hold it against any fighter for not moving out of a weightclass they make with relative ease and their obviously most suitable in.
