Look, the man needs to be paid If the money isn't there 100 per cent, why sign? Im not sticking up for him at all but it needs to be set in stone
Fighters who say "it's not about the money", we know they are talking crap. We all know it's about the money. That's why Fury pays lawyers a lot of money to make sure he's going to get paid. There doesn't seem to be any obstacle to this fight as long as the money is guaranteed. A routine request really.
Surely he's only asking for the money that Hearn's been talking about. The "huge offer", Fury wants it guaranteed, that's all. I know you don't like the man, but it's a routine business matter.
Routine business to sink the only fight that matters, and possibly for good, because despite going to get paid a kings ransom, youre not getting the exact figures a promoter said? Nah. Thats not routine. Plenty fighters would push hard for the numbers they want but then accept whats reasonable to make the biggest fight of their careers and in boxing happen. Defend it all you want but If Fury sinks this fight because despite getting 50/50 with AJ and huge amounts of money, and more money than he will get anywhere else, its not the exact figure hes looking for, its a historic duck.
Fury is waiting for AJ get more damage before facing him. AJ will probably fight Usyk & Ortiz and get more damage before facing Fury, meanwhile Fury will fight someone like Sefer Seferi and keep himself fit and undamaged. Then Fury will beat the damaged AJ easily. Smart.
No, I think (from what I heard) he just wants the money guaranteed, the figure on the contract, his share of the site fee figure, he wants that guaranteed legitimately through a bank. That's what his lawyer is requesting. It's normal. He's not demanding "more money", he's agreeing to the figure - the "huge offer" - but needs the financial proofs that the figure is being guaranteed, underwritten. Simple.
Hearn deals with dodgy saudi arabians who aren't as rich as they say they are. Hearn probably had some dodgy contract written up so they can avoid tax.
I think it's hilarious how people are seeking to blame Tyson Fury if this fight falls through, despite him clearly having been waiting patiently for 3 or 4 months now, at least, while Hearn says every week "it's almost 100% on", "expect an announcement within 2 weeks, expect it next week" ...... Fury's been quite honest in saying he's not sure the money's there for the fight this year, but he wants it, and the offers are interesting, and he's been keen to work it out with Hearn on those offers, even though he has stressed he needs to fight .... .... it's funny because Fury gets critcised for not fighting, but when he expresses frustration at waiting for so long for a guarantee and talks about walking away to get another fight, he gets critcised for that too. No one with any sense would doubt now that BOTH FIGHTERS WANT THE FIGHT. At the end of the day they are just fighters. They want the big fights. They want the big money. The main thing that's holding this up is the finances, in this uncertain climate. It's quite clear that is what the problem is. Hopefully it can be resolved in the coming days and we get the fight. And all credit to Eddie Hearn if we get that deal he's been working with the Saudis on.
I vaguely remember the Joshua V Wilder fight didn't happen because the money Wilder offered wasn't guaranteed. I've been getting deja vu with this for a while now.
Unfortunately he has a team of lawyers working for him and they dont give a flying f@#k for Spartans. Their job is to make sure everything is done correctly and they would never let fury agree to the contract fully until proof of funds were pending.
look like fight will be in Saudia for August. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/boxing-hearn-says-fury-v-120652905.html
