Rocky Marciano vs Riddick Bowe?

Marciano would not be a tougher fight than Holyfield, who is a much better boxer overall.

So you're gonna tell us that nobody could win by trading punch for punch with Marciano ?!?
You better be joking. If Marciano goes blow for blow with guys like Liston, Foreman, Tyson, Lewis, etc, he likely ends up in 2 places: in a coma or at the morgue.

 

I'm not the biggest Holyfield fan, but in no way, shape or form was Marciano a better boxer than him.
Marciano only surpasses Holyfield in 2 areas: punching power and stamina. In all other departments, Holyfield is superior.

 

Rocky gets pulp'd within 10 rounds.

The weight Bowe puts behind his shots is going to do a 188 pounder some serious , serious harm. Some people have no clue about boxing

Bowe might well have come unstuck against a smaller swarmer.

Big men get in their own way when it becomes an inside game.

There are big men who can fight well on the inside, but a smaller man will have the inherent advantage.

 

As the fight goes on, and the waters get deeper, Bowe shows wear and tear and fatigue, while Rocky is still in top gear.

The more I examine Marciano's actual abilities, the closer he moves to Marvin Hart territory and away from the athletes that grace the heavyweight Top 25.

 

Lewis is the jab and grab King my friend.

 

Lewis was more versatile, with better inside fighting game my friend.

 

Lewis used an uppercut more, Wlad used the left hook more, but that's really the only difference. You guys sound like Pepsi and Coke fans arguing.

Marciano is a much better fighter on a pound for pound basis than Bowe but the size differential is too much for him to win this particular bout.
Turn it around - picture Rocky in all his ferocious glory being let loose on a top class Light-Welterweight. That's the amount of size he'd be giving away to Riddick.

If Marciano weighed as much as,say,Mike Tyson then he'd have blasted Bowe out.

 

Bowe is one of the best inside fighters in HW history what are you talking about?
