ggg did really well in both fights definitely give credit, arguably won the 2nd fight(which even Ive seen some of his fans reluctantly accept this loss but not me so you cant call me a hater of GGG) I had super close and wouldn't be upset with ggg winning. However, canelo took away some of his strengths tactically, (ring cutting, body shots, etc.) which is undeniable. Yes his jab was definitely his best weapon, but best GGG had many weapons not just jab and workrate. So I agree with you generally about GGGs performance vs canelo. However, I don't agree with the old stuff. ggg was still world class with world class skills and hadn't loss. Skills don't evaporate overnight.
Just do what he said, " I'll fight anyone from 154 to 168 " if GGG wanna be an ATG. End of the story.
So we don't know how good he was. People have always overrated guys and found out they were not good. This is just speculation..
I voted no simply because he was avoided by the best during his prime. I was a massive fan and maybe I'll change my mind. Boxing politics have prevented GGG being great. Certainly in the hall of fame.
Skill and talent wise he compares favorably to Freddie Steele IMO who's without question an ATG and top 5 MW ever. But his pro resume is not up to par due to the ammy career and how much he was avoided during his prime
check him out o youtube dog,, for a couple years there he was regarded as 3rd best p4p behind pacquiao and mayweather
To be an all time great you have to dominate for a time. Be the man. He's really good and has been avoided but he hasn't been king of the hill yet.
Y’all some casuals voting no The fighters who shamelessly ducked him who robbed him of superstar scalps shouldn’t count against him I’ll be laughing when he’s inducted to the HOF on his first day eligible
Yes. Based off of ability and the eye test although his career resume wasn’t good enough he got ****ed through out his career.
