Yeah that fight was absolutely ridiculous. If I actually paid money to see that fight I'd make sure Seldon was knocked out.
Seldon is a weird guy to be around and lacked confidence in the ring just when you think he is gonna unload he backs off he was even nervous on the pads he was most comfortable sparring away from judging eyes coaches an that sort of lot in our covid world where there were empty arenas he would have shined
Seldon would look good in this one, for a short while, before getting starched by Foreman. It's just a matter of time before Seldon's tendency to jab and pause, with his chin suspended in the kill zone, gets him clipped.
Yeah there are any number of guys who have stage fright or who can't perform well under stress. He probably could have used some therapy or meditation to get over those issues. It's weird because physically and athletically he was a great specimen for boxing, looked the part, had decent skills, etc but he didn't seem to have the focus or heart. Happens quite often actually. I've seen many guys like that come and go in my years in various gyms and then thinking "what a waste of talent" when they fall off. But your health and happiness comes first and if you don't have that, it doesn't matter how much money is being offered.
The post fight interview was even more ridiculous ... "Mike Tyson is a destroyer" lol Seldon had a good jab and was a good boxer ... Guess it wasn't worth it for him to try lol
More like "destroyed" his confidence. one of the most disappointing matchups on paper. Both around the same age, athletic, explosive, both champions. And then apparently just the wind from Tyson's punch knocked him out. I'm shocked anyone paid him to show up for more fights.
Seldon's chin was pretty bad. At least he wasn't durable. He's got nice skills, good jab and quick hands. If it was a car race Bruce is the one with the pretty paint job that doesn't get off the line. George would be a 454 Vette with 4.56s gears. There's nobody picking Seldon that would bet $ on his chin. I would put by paycheck on Foreman.
seldon holds those hands too low to be facing the hitters. And that chin straight up in the air---there is a reason he didn't face the hitters.
I once floored Seldon and he did not come around for about a week he had no confidence but all the potential
LOL! I was watching a video of Seldon, coughed on my coffee, and he fell down. In the video. What, you don't believe me? 3 rounds. I think that's actually pretty fair of me.
You beat me to it. I think Bruce has a legitimate chance here and if he fights with a gameplan the same way Morrison fought with one, he takes a UD. He has two things working for him in this match up, speed (better than Foreman at least) and a solid jab.
