June sixth in Florida. IBF, WBO and WBA lightweight titles at stake - second, first and first defense of López. Kambosos is the IBF and WBO #1 contender, and ranked #8 by the WBA.

Zero against zero. Aussie by way of Greek vs. American by way of Honduran (probably the first time we've seen that specific combination in a championship match, I'd wager :sisi1)

Lopez is gonna wanna rumble. He wins but he is gonna get hurt a few in the process maybe by Kambosos catching him storming in.

    War López! :boxing1

I think he's out to prove a point in this fight, to prove the Loma fight wasn't a one-off.
He won me over as a fan in that fight, so I'm intrigued to see what he brings. Personally, I don't like Kamboso - I hope López goes to work!

I thought for a second we had come close once before.

Back in the day Michael Katsidas-Jesus Chavez-Carlos Hernandez-Vincent Escobedo competed in a 4 man tourney to decide who would be next in line for the WBO title shot. I actually think Jorge Barrios was originally supposed to be one of the 4 but don't quote me on that.

Of course Katsidas beat Chavez and Escobedo defeated Hernandez. Then Michael came out on top by defeating Vicente later for the interim strap.

Here Im am thinking that if Hernandez had won his bout and got through to fight Katsidas we would have seen this matchup of ethnicities before.

But upon further review Carlos was of Salvadoran extraction. So I have not only wasted my time but I've wasted yours by you reading this

After the one on one interview, I watched some of his fights. Looks sharp, quick and has pop. Doesn't seem intimidated. You may be right. I still pick Lopez at this point. If Kambosos manages to win, you will be the first I reach out to, to give you props for picking the winner.

    Lopez decision.

I was leaning towards a Teo stoppage win but I think Kambosos will tough it out.

George is supremely confident and is bringing to fight the kind of self belief you want in a younger, unbeaten fighter.

Sometimes I think that confidence can become a little bit of cockiness. To me he let rounds against Selby and Bey get far to close by getting outworked and out jabbed. Even if he felt he was landing the heavier, eye catching stuff you shouldn't leave those rounds up to interpretation.

George for all his aggression and bravado is not that busy of a fighter. He feints and probes a lot on the front foot but seems to wait for a while to actually throw. Always looking for big shots and big combos.
And Teo seems to me to have settled more into a counter puncher role himself, looking to back his power and explosiveness to win him the day.

I actually think this might be a pretty subdued fight early on, with both guys posing and watching trying to capitalise on the others mistake.

Should get fun after that..whichever way it may go.

He's big too, similar or a shade bigger than Lopez in some dimensions. I think it may look like the Nakatani fight.

This will be a great fight.

My heart goes for George Kambosos but my gut tells me Lopez is too big and too strong.

    Ah **** it.
    WAR George!!!
No surrender, no retreat, no mercy.

Lopez better bring inhaler with him if this goes past 6 rounds, because he is going to get ktfo.

I've not seem much of Kambosos fights, but i've been impressed with the kid so far in the interviews - doesn't appear intimiated by Lopez in the slightest.

That might of course change when they get in the ring.

I need to checkout some of George's fights before making a prediction, but I like the cut of his jib so far

Okay, I was negative on Kambosis when this fight was announced so I went back and checked out his fights. This guy is a basic fighter who likes to keep his chin nice and high. He got a gift split decision against Selby who is no world beater and will not last more than two rounds with Lopez.

Kambosis hit Selby with everything he had and couldn’t hurt him and he took some flush shots. I had Selby winning the fight but it ended in a split. This guy has zero chance of winning and is a glorified sparring partner. This fight is a disgrace and Lopez will easily handle this guy. He will punch the tattoos right off his neck. Kambosis is aggressive but doesn’t have legit boxing skills. Easy, EASY, money for Lopez. Waste of time.
