If Aj fights cautious like he did against Ruiz in the rematch i favor Aj by decision but trying to go toe to toe with Tua like he did against Takam and Ruiz 1st time and he gets blasted out in a few rounds
Like defusing a bomb for AJ. I don't be gets through it without getting caught . All over if that happened.
Joshua doesn't have the boxing skill to out box Tua and he doesn't have the chin to stand up to Tua's punches. I would say Tua in less than 3 rounds.
I think like a lot of Tua's fights, Joshua outbox's him and is up on points, but eventually gets tagged and stopped.
Am I missing something here ? This All Time Great is non Olympic Champion, non World Champion David Tua ? The little fella that Lennox Lewis stood on his head in the time it takes to boil an egg ?
Joshua should beat him, remember that we always pick the best versions of each fighter, so we'd have AJ from Ruiz rematch and not the first fight. Tua was easy to outbox, especially when you have power to shake him up and reach advantage. Joshua has both, the only concern is his chin but I believe he'd stay at range and beat up Tua.
Tua was getting thoroughly outboxed by a green Rahman who wasn't a particularly great boxer and more of a very basic straightforward boxer puncher. Yet Rahman could make adjustments and pick Tua apart at various moments of their first fight before getting caught by a cheap shot. Lewis effortlessly jabbed, pawed, and clinched Tua; cruising to a clear decision. Easy to hate on Joshua as the modern guy who was flattened by the flabby underdog Ruiz, but Joshua wasn't counted out and severely underestimated his opponent. He not only won the rematch, he developed great lateral movement and outside skills for a hulking body builder who spent 90% of his career flat footed and aggressively walking guys down on the front foot. Joshua has gotten off the floor to win, he has a good jab and would easily be able to tie up the smaller Tua. And he has one of the most devastating uppercuts in the division. The current mature Joshua wins this in a shutout.
Definitely Joshua UD Tua didnt show anything during his career, or held any wins over competition in his era to suggest if he was in AJs era that would get a win over him.... AJ is a top 3 in this current era. Where was Tua during his era? Barely top 8... Although it has to be said that AJ does struggle with smaller opponents so this wouldnt be a walk in the park.
