This is nothing new and has been going on for many years. I could probably beat up 25 people somewhere and become 25-0 (25 KO's). I don't see a problem there... The problem is with the organisations. Any self respected organisation wouldn't rank me because I beat 25 nobodies. But this is the WBA, the most fraudulent organisation of the moment. Look at their rankings, it doesn't make any sense at all. Every time, some fighters with several losses in a row, magically appear in the top 15. They also have 4 champions. That's what ruining the sport. Hughie Fury beat a guy named Chris Norrad not so long ago. It was obvious Norrad was a complete bum (even with a 17-0 record, but if casuals buy it, so be it). Promotors might organise these mismatches, but as long as they are not getting ranked, I don't see the problem.

This has happened many times before, and it will happen again and again. Don't forget about the Brazilians, the likes of Don Steele and that Ali Raimi caracter. In the early days of boxing this used to be the norm... some talentless hick out of Hickfield Alabama beat up some local, even less talented hicks, and then got noticed and fought for the belt and got trashed for his troubles. Nothing new, nothing we haven't seen before.
Pity, Christopher Lovehandles would have been a fine comeback fight for Deontay. Maybe there's still time...
nope! the WBA are the smartest people in the room. they realized 2 facts that they are exploiting: Nr. 1: The general boxing fan is dumb as fxxx! Nr.2 : They can do whatever ape**** idea that springs into their coked out heads..........but in the end: THE WBA STILL REAMAINS A RECOGNIZED WORLD TITLE!
Actually i believe one large media organisation recently denounced the WBA as bring recognised as a world title , cant remember who but there was a thread that either discussed or referenced it Might have been one of the bigger websites tbh Short term thinking is hardly that smart
I don't disagree but pro boxing has always had such goofiness. It's not really a sport. It's prize fighting. Amateur boxing is a real sport but pro boxing is two people fighting each other for money and our amusement. There is no unified organization to enforce fairness and legitimacy. It's all about making money for everyone involved. I love boxing and have followed it for decades now. But... I've learned not to expect too much from it other than some occasional great fights and memorable moments.
they have been doing it for a while and NOTHING has happened!! last i looked, the WBA is still in business and doing making a shitload of money all around the world.
TBH i don't really check out any boxing org finances But the more up to date fan knows the score with how bad they are Some comfort i guess
