He looked better than Parker did v Chisora, he`ll probably look better than Parker did v Ruiz, Whyte and AJ too.
Well, personally, I'm of the opinion Whyte is better than Chisora. He proved it twice, albeit not conclusively.
He's like 5 inches taller and 40 plus pounds heavier than usyk. Fury doesn't hit that hard?? Well that's easy to say when u aren't the one climbing through the ropes. Fury has plenty of stoppage wins and he was able to make chisora stop but usyk couldn't. Usyk has never knocked a heavyweight out.
Usyk is a lot more skilled than Wilder and Fury missed a lot of wild right hands trying to finish DW.
Exactly. Anyone can put on weight to make a weight class, the question is can they still be effective...as you say. Especially, if they are usually fighting in a considerably lighter weight class until recently.
Not after 6 rounds when the ref stopped Chisora from holding Usyk`s lead arm on the ropes cutting off his escape to the right hand side.
War with jabs? I think no one will won this vs Usyk. Usyk for sure is beatable but not with jab fight. Good variant is for a good clinch fighter to clinch with him up. Then there are hooks, half hooks etc. Jabs : his daily bread when he was world level amateur superstar and Joyce not likely will be able to land on him like on DD. He should forget this and use hooks, half hooks combined with jabs etc + clinch to fight vs Usyk. Jabs are most effective stuff in longer distance fighting, stuff what made Usyk as am suprestar at world level.
Usyk has yet to prove anything at heavyweight. But if light punching cruiser weight Steve Cunnigham could almost beat Tyson Fury then Usyk probably would.
Usyk is a points fighter. He is from the same school of boxing as Lomachenko. How well that's going to work for him fighting in the HW division is an open question. Yes I know he's stopped people but like Loma, he is more of a sharp puncher than a slugger. He outboxes opponents and only when he has them tired and confused does he set down on his punches. How well this is going to work him at HW is an open question.
If looking in depth he is different and his style in depth is different than Loma's style. Actually I think him likes to fight and stop a guy far more than for Loma. The thing is that he had best legs at CW division and also best jab. If combine this with sharp and quick angles change, for him was effective to use his advantages. Ofc Usyk's legs as prime in pros at CW were not so good as for Ali in 60 ies, for sure better than Ali from 70 ies. Combining this with fact that he is mobile high guard boxer who uses dynamic guard, he used this with a glance.
