There is no one modern or one old stance but a lot of what we have is just old stuff suited to todays (Gloves, rounds ect) rules after about the 1920s I have not seen much new stuff at all it is all the same **** thats why

Just off-topic quickly, what do you think of Wilder hiring the new trainer?

Joe would be 21 and about to take the Olympics by storm. Hearn, Haymon and Arum would be pleading for his signature.
He turns pro and cleans out the Cruiserweight division and then moving up by 2026 to dominate the Heavyweights.
Great Fighters are always great Fighters and their talent will always be adaptable.

Some people maintain Sonny Liston was born in the year 1000 so I can work with this.

His chances of also becoming lineal HW champ are slim to none.

Joe at 21 buried Carnera and Baer, so im expecting him to dominate 90% of the division.
Tyson Fury however can do a max schmeling on this still learning version of Joe.

That's a heck of a post Ecto, fair do's. Didn't the OP add an amendment that Joe would have Chappie as his trainer ?

You have gone a bit further than I would have done with this, but I will make the following observation.

Ai would have been great if he had been trained by Coco the clown.

    Louis, not necessarily.

Born in the year 2000, by my reckoning, Joe would be 21 right now and going for the Lineal Cruiserweight Title. So we're looking at opportunities down the road some years to weigh in heavier and go for the Heavyweight Lineal Belt at a later time. Who would hold that belt then? I have no idea, but I'd give Joe a pretty good shot at taking it from whoever it is.

Blackburn spent many hours in the gym with Joe developing that lefthand. IMO the greatest left hand in ring history.

It's said that he used to tie Louis' right hand to the ring ropes, to develop Joe's left. True? Dunno.
But it was on the VHS 'The Joe Louis story' with Barry Tompkins, for what it's worth.

An interesting thing about the heavyweights over the years is how much bigger their thighs got. Louis is listed as having 20" and 22" thighs during the early and middle stages of his career.
Then Ali had 25" thighs, and modern fighters' legs are often bigger than Ali's as well. David Haye (not a big heavyweight) had 27" thighs.
A lot of the other measurements didn't change all that much, but their thigh measurements did.
