As far as I know there are four books on former world heavyweight champion James J. Jeffries .. three of the four are almost impossible ..

My Life and Battles and Two Fisted Jeff, both authored by Jeffries are virtually impossible and the copies that you can find through rare book dealers are over $ 600.00 (US) per .. ten years or so ago Ultimate Tough Guy came out ... it is actually pretty decent. I read it once and put it on my shelf .. I wanted to pick up a copy for a friend recently and saw copies are rare and start now at $ 275.00 (US) .. thankfully A. Pollack's exceptional In the Ring w James J. Jeffries is in print and obtainable ... anyone have a clue about this ?

Probably out of print for a long time and getting a decent copy makes them expensive.

There is also a book by Kelly Nicholson called "A man among men" that came out around twenty years ago and is still fairly well priced.
