Yes, because the risk of legal action against them if they ignore it makes it unfeasible. Wilder is entitled to 40% of the pie for a 3rd fight which would most probably would be something like $20m dollars... I very much doubt ESPN and all the other broadcasters would go ahead with such a potential issue in the background, as Haymon and co could also go after them for damages.
Not surprised in the slightest. Al Haymon, former associate of fellow cult member, Jay Z, is in the cult. If you don't know what that means then i dgaf. He was NEVER going to lose this court battle, even if he was in the wrong.
I can't be bothered with all the messing about, they've obviously known about this all along. I wish we could have a superstar World Champion like Manny again, someone who would go in with anyone and it would be all out entertainment.
I guess this explains why Warren and Arum wanted nothing to do with the negotiations for the fight, they knew this was coming.
From what I'm reading Arum won't pay Wilder, Hearn probably would but is he willing to pay Wilder LARGE? AJ and Fury are reportedly earning $75 million EACH. So even $10 million step aside won't cut it, simply because this all depends on TWO FIGHTS, so Wilder will be sitting on his hands for nearly a year. He will basically be in Whytes previous situation, does he risk a fight and his position? Fury And AJ would fight in August and then end of the year, then they would want a small break, so maybe April or May next year before Wilder gets a shot and even then with the mandatory situation Wilder won't be fighting for all the belts. He would probably be fighting for ONE, so there is no real benefit in waiting for his shot at the winner, if he presses now or next year he will be in the same position. Usyk and Whyte will be pressing for their mandatory shots, The IBF is strict with their mandatory so I believe that will also need addressing, This is an absolute mess now, there could be lawsuits all over the place, Hearn has business with DAZN and business in America, he doesn't thise sorts of problems in the US.
How was Arum (an ex lawyer whom must have a team of lawyers working for him) and Warren so confident that contractually Wiilder "didn't have a leg to stand on" legally? Was this just a big PR stunt by Top Rank and PBC all along and TR were never serious about making the AJ fight?
The more I'm reading the more I believe the WBC will "strip" Fury or Fury will vacate. Wilder Vs Whyte for the WBC title.. which will suit a few people, including Wilder. Then the WBC will make Fury the WBC FRANCHISE CHAMPION.
For there to be a trilogy there needs to be some justification or fans calling for it. Wilder has fought 19 rounds against Fury by now and has won how many of those? Three or Four. If anyone thinks it’s more than three or four out of 19, please let me know They aren’t evenly matched and no one wants to see this rematch.
How annoying. Hope they can resolve it. Something stupid like Wilder KO’ing Fury in a third fight would probably happen as well.
