Was he actually in his prime or did he lose a step?

He didn't look like he'd lost a step to me.

No, he was in fact not in his prime.

Because when GGG was in his prime.... Canelo cowardly, like a little rat, gave up his belt rather than face him.

This. Even the Brook fight showed his speed had diminished, that’s why Oscar gave it the green light

He looked prime in their first fight. I don't consider him post prime until after the second fight which was still close to prime. He wasn't in a lot of competitive fights until he fought Canelo the first time.

That will forever be hard to judge and partially it’s not his fault. Of course he looked beyond elite vs the likes of Wade, Stevens, Lemeiux etc.. When he fought Kell Brook it showed that someone faster can give him a little trouble and then he fought Jacobs in a very tough matchup. He looked prime in Canelo 1 (which he won IMO) disposed of Vanes, had a tough rematch with Canelo, disposed of Rolls, and then had a very tough match vs Derevyanchenko. To me that shows that as long as he fought fighters in the top 5 of his divisions he has a tough time, but when he fight a lower level fighter fighter he dominates.

Past prime in the first fight but not by much.

In rapid decline by the time the second fight came around.

Looked as good as ever in the first fight. It was his first real test also.

Brook was faster than ggg thats why he looked slower.

Canelo nut huggers cannot keep his balls out of their mouths and his dick out of his Ass. Floyd past his prime embarrassed Canelo who was in his prime and GGG at 36, 37 past his prime (when pressure fighters diminish in their early 30's) beat Canelo in his prime

Canelo didn't want anything to do with the GGG of the Lemieux fight. He definitely learnt the art of cherry picking from Floyd

No. Slightly past prime in first fight, and even moreso in the rematch, imo.
