it's not tied to a belt, it's tied to a rematch clause. Fury fights Wilder next or retires. He can't continued his boxing career with this clause in place because anyone involved in helping Fury fight someone else (other than WIlder) going forward will be sued like crazy.

Fury should probably consider suing his promoter to get out of his contract. And definitely fire whatever advisors and managers he was listening to, no question there.

Nah thats too much. Just make the fight with Wilder by July, destroy Wilder and then hop into undisputed with Aj in the fall as in September through November. Not only does this shut up the Wilder fans but it also solves his "inactivity" issue.

You think it will be that easy to agree upon the Joshua fight ahead of time when it took them this long to kinda-sorta-maybe have agreed on this August bout? While in training for an entirely different dude at the same time? Counting the eggs before they hatch, there. Not even factoring in possible injury between all three fighters and Joshua then wanting to schedule something in between too. If Fury/Wilder iii goes ahead, Joshua/Fury will wait until next spring or summer. We've seen this so many times before.

Fine with me. Provided Fury beats Wilder and gets this done as soon as possible we can finally move on.
