Joe Louis vs Sam Langford

I see this as a tough fight for both men. Joe would have the jab going to keep Sam at bay while he kept trying to bore in. I think Joe's physical advantages would tip the scales in his favor and I see Louis winning a decision. But he would know that he had been in a fight!

 

Tough fight. Joe has to come from behind to finally stop him. If Joe had faced a few like Langford in his title reign, then he wouldn't have being champ so long, imo.

 

Langford beats him and beats him clean possibly knockout! Yall please go watch Langford footage and see how many jabs land flush on Langford not many if any at all. Langford also had a habit of if he got his jab off first you are eating an nasty short devasting right hook. But Langford is the more skilled fighter against better opposition.

I'd make Louis a favorite, but Langford is one of the very few fighters smaller than Joe who could beat him. Sam is very underrated, I think he's better H2H HW than Dempsey or Rocky.

 

I’d have to favor Louis but Langford would frustrate the hell out of him before Joe caught up to him

 

I like how many here fancy a 5-7 inch sometime lightweight without any footage to beat Louis based on newspaper reports but then have Louis beating the modern super heavyweights.

That quote that Louis gets hot and bothered when the going gets rough... Couldn't disagree more. Anyone more relaxed is certainly too relaxed in a ring.
